I understand your point, truly, and I do agree that Elinor deserves more, but Edward doesn't bother me so much.
Perhaps, as Katie says, it's because in this reread I'm less interested in the romantic part of the novel and enjoy more other aspects.
Or maybe I'm just too influenced by the movie and TV portrayals of Edward and can't think objectively ;)
I understand your point, truly, and I do agree that Elinor deserves more, but Edward doesn't bother me so much.

Dan Stevens is to pretty to be Edward but I wouldn't mind watching him chop wood in the rain! Hugh Grant makes more sense and his Edward is kind to Margaret.
