Sure, no problem! You have been added! You can read a different pace if this doesn't work for you.

Dolinka wrote: "i am sooo excited to read this book i really can't wait until July 6. how about you guys? are you also excited for it?"I'm so excited too! My copy returns to the library on the 16th, but I have a couple other books I need to plow through before I can get to this one.

does one of you have the physical book? if so how many pages does it have? I want to know how many pages i read for the readathon. I haven’t read the chapters for today oops. I probably don't have time to read tomorrow either, so I'll start Monday and catch up.

I have the physical copy but it doesn't have actual numbered chapters. It looks like the chapters are short (since there are about 113) however, so if you read about 50 pages a day you'd be on track with the anticipated timeline. But I'm also going to be catching up tomorrow or Monday, since I need to finish the book I'm currently reading (I've been in a kinda slump recently).
Yay procrastinators lol
@Laurel that is not what I mean :). I would like to know how many pages the entire book is. not by chapter hahah.
Dolinka wrote: "@Laurel that is not what I mean :). I would like to know how many pages the entire book is. not by chapter hahah."Oh I'm sorry! My physical copy has 388.
I'm completely up-to-date again and I think it's a good and enjoyable book so far. the only thing that annoys me is that she always calls her daughter "baby girl". I love the little recipes.

I love the little recipes."I love the recipes too! And the semi-magical realistic portions, which remind me of Like Water for Chocolate, where food has the power to bring back memories or change moods.
The entire thing is just so good so far, particularly with how Emoni juggles all of her responsibilities and tries her best to be a good mom—and how she doesn't give a single shit about what people think about her being a teenage mom.
And I went ahead and finished it because it was so amazing. 5/5 stars. Like Emoni's food, Acevedo's writing stirs up so many feelings and memories.
Me terrible review is here.
I'll still be tuning in and chatting :)

I really like it so far. I am pretty sure it will give it 5 stars. I think I'm going to finish it tonight or tomorrow morning depends on how tired I am from work :)

Yay, I finished it and I loved it . It was 5 stars read. My review is:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I wrote many things in my review but I just wanted to really tell you how I appreciate the topic of the book and how well it was executed.
By the way , have you read the poetX?would you recommend it even if I'm not the poetry type?

I'm not a huge poetry fan either, but The Poet X is incredible. It is very different in tone and writing style (not just with the poetry) than this one, but still incredible.
