Lilith Iyapo has just lost her husband and son when atomic fire consumes Earth—the last stage of the planet’s final war. Hundreds of years later Lilith awakes, deep in the hold of a massive alien spacecraft piloted by the Oankali—who arrived just in time to save humanity from extinction. They have kept Lilith and other survivors asleep for centuries, as they learned whatever they could about Earth. Now it is time for Lilith to lead them back to her home world, but life among the Oankali on the newly resettled planet will be nothing like it was before.

The poll for our first group read is now up!
Based on the Book Suggestions discussion, it seemed like there was a good bit of interest in The Vegetarian by Han Kang and the Xennogenisis series by Octavia E. Butler (the first book in the series is Dawn), so I think one of those would be good for our first group read :)
The poll will be open for until July 6, so get your votes in! I'll include the synopsis for both books in the comments.
Once the poll is over, I'll leave links to purchase or borrow (I've found both on Hoopla and Libby, so if your library participates in one of those, you should check if they're available!).
