Just about everything "he" did was deliberate, planned. I think he always had stronger feelings for Faye, but the intimate relationship may have taken a bit to develop.
I’m with you, Melissa. I also thought Faye was always his attraction but knew Cami was dangerous and useful. Everything he did was to protect his own self interest. He needed Cami to carry out his plan, saw her for the sociopath she was and couldn’t risk losing her. But Faye was his long term plan.
I agree with both of you. Faye was definitely the one he saw himself with long term. Yes, he needed Cami because of who she was and he played her so that she would do what he wanted.
I agree that he was very manipulative and saw Cami, Laura and the others as a means to an end. Perhaps this was also his view of Faye in the beginning, but she came to mean more to him - sort of a kindred spirit - and he definitely wanted something more long term with her.

I agree about the "kindred spirit". I think he recognized it in Faye from almost the beginning. And, as he expressed, Faye "understood" him & his need for the cutting. It was a strong tie between them, I think. Everyone else was just a means to an end for him.
