Amazon is taking longer than normal in shipping my copy. I'm dying to start reading it. As it happens, I have a business trip scheduled for next week, and it's to my shock to New Mexico! How "coincidental" is that!! God must be telling me something with that. I just don't know what.

I edited the first post. I had initially written "chapters," but in my edition, which is the same as the featured cover, they are named "books". I know it really makes little difference, it is just for consistence sake.

For those seeking more information on the region and the history from Cather's novel, I've just been made aware of the biography of Jean Baptiste Lamy, who is the real life character Bishop Latour is based on. The bio, Lamy of Santa Fe, by Paul Horgon. Looks like a good read and I know Paul Horgan is a fine writer.
