Good buy for an 8 year old? Sonic the Hedgehog 1: Countdown to Chaos

Not sure where to post but I was looking to purchase Sonic the Hedgehog 1: Countdown to Chaos ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1627... ) graphic novel for my son. I am into graphic novels as well and I wanted to get him a novel to continuously read (few pages a day) after school. This way he can discuss it with me after. I know it'll be exciting for him. It says it's for 10 years and up and although I am not worried if he is able read it or not I am curious about the content. I assume with it being Sonic it wasn't anything bad. I just wanted to make sure.
