Within these chapters we learn a lot about the Aiel.

This is where we lose some readers. I think that it’s either you find yourself fascinated by the extent of this world’s history.

What do you guys think?

Deborah Cox | 5 comments This series grabbed me from the first (Book #0). Sorry, but could not pace myself, I am on Book #14....could not put it down....So many exciting and unexpected events....keep reading guys!!!!!

Lindsey Reads | 1 comments I find the Aiel intriguing. I had no idea this is where some readers drop off. I think the distinct regional cultures is one reason this series is so good.

Nebojša (nebojsaen) One thing I love about the series, is that we get to know the WoT world, gradually. The Aiel are mentioned early on, but it is first in The Shadow Rising that we get to learn more about them. For me they are the most intriguing of the peoples/factions.

I totally agree!

I think some readers maybe only want action or are just not prepared to learn about the Aiel.

Lynn Silsby | 12 comments For me, I was way into learning about the Aiel, but then found the shift back to Perrin's point of view in the Two Rivers jarring.

Because Jordan is advancing multiple plot points at the same time, across multiple far-flung locations, I guess this sort of jumping around is unavoidable? But when a reader is really digging one storyline, the abrupt shift to a different one can be a real wet blanket, arresting his/her/their progress through the book.

Hoang (hoangh98) | 35 comments Man, I love the Aiel's history more than book 3. Also, love the Two Rivers. The only thing I don't like is reading this bit**, Liandrin. Hope she burns!

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) I am really liking Perrin's story in this book. It is really sad, but I really like going back to The Two Rivers. Rand's journey in this book is also really good.

Yup, Perin's story is really amazing. Rand's journey is gonna be more and more EPIC in the next few books! I really love the worldbuilding in book 4, 5 and 6. I hope you will enjoy them too. Also, don't forget about Mat. This book is when Mat becomes one of my favourite characters.
