Funny Furballs
What a brilliantly fun read! It engages you right from the start, with the bizarre romances starting to build up in what I can only imagine is likely to have a RH finish. But, we don’t quite get there in this first book… It is short, fun, exciting, but at the end tells you very much that it is to be read as part of a series, as it ends on a cliffhanger with plenty of unanswered questions.
The most major unanswered question for me was, what was that bizarre phone call in the beginning, and why did Lucy not think about it again or even figure it out…? There are still plenty of mysteries to be solved, but this book doesn’t even broach the subject in the blurb – vampires as a species in trouble?! We hear none of that!
One thing I am very glad of is that the romance didn’t boil up too quickly, that there was no immediate bed hopping – with such a short story, unless it is specifically only about the romance, that can be very unrealistic.
All in all, quite enjoyable, and I am leg-hopping for the sequel!!
Final rating: ★★★★☆ – Really liked

Thank you for reviewing! All will be revealed! We have a lot of notes on where we want the series to go, and a lot of the things that seem small at the moment will become more obvious. We're loving Lucy (and the relationship(s) are going to continue at roughly the same speed for now, though there is a surprise coming on that front!)

Ooooh, I hope so!! But with all those little things, I guess you'd have to keep notes, so you don't get lost!
But as I said, it's nice to have relationships go slow. I read enough erotica where people just dive in, when that's what it's all about. You don't need that in romance novels, too. Romance should all be just about that - the romance! (plus any other shenanigans that they're involved in!)
BTW, I noticed that there wasn't so much action on here, but more on your FB group, so I decided to start adding my reviews here as well, to see if others wanted to jump in on the discussion!

I'm a fan of the jump right in kind sometimes, but slow and building feels more naturally recently. Ari has always written that way, and for the story to work with Lucy (and with her various relationships!) we felt that it definitely needed a slower build. Our other RH heroine, Lola, has a much faster one because of a more fated mates situation though, that can also be fun!
Thank you! This is a new endeavour! I used to love Goodreads as a reader, and know there's people here who don't use Facebook, so thought I'd start growing it! I'm hoping that if I'm persistant, it can be a little different than the FB group. Thank you so much for helping with that!
