are all tana french characters ie police people, downers in their life trajectories? Do all her novels have many character 'biting down on the inside of their cheeks'? I'm a serial mystery addict, primarily Brit and just began T. French. I have read #1-4 in the Dublin Murder Squad series. Contemplating book#5, but finding the above depressing and tiresome. Please let me know. Thanks! CH



So I've only read #1 in this series so far and I'm not a huge fan of being the devil's advocate BUT wouldn't working on a Murder Squad sort of cinch your life into the downer trajectory? Made me think of other homicide detective series and it seems a great many of them are in a downward spiral, Harry Bosch popping to mind.
