In the Woods
question
overriding inclinations of the author

are all tana french characters ie police people, downers in their life trajectories? Do all her novels have many character 'biting down on the inside of their cheeks'? I'm a serial mystery addict, primarily Brit and just began T. French. I have read #1-4 in the Dublin Murder Squad series. Contemplating book#5, but finding the above depressing and tiresome. Please let me know. Thanks! CH
So I've only read #1 in this series so far and I'm not a huge fan of being the devil's advocate BUT wouldn't working on a Murder Squad sort of cinch your life into the downer trajectory? Made me think of other homicide detective series and it seems a great many of them are in a downward spiral, Harry Bosch popping to mind.
