(view spoiler)[I'm glad that she wasn't sent to the orphanage. I was happy to see she finally had a friend. Now that things are happening it will be interesting to see how things are going to go. Hopefully by the end we will find out exactly what happened to the director or whatever she was called. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 10-18:
(view spoiler)[Less action and more intrigue. I feel bad for Elisabeth and Nathaniel. They have been through a lot. Although, for Nathaniel it's in the past. I didn't trust Ashcroft or Finch before, and I'm not surprised that Finch eliminated Elisabeth from the records, but I didn't think Ashcroft would try to destroy Elisabeth. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[We now know that Ashcroft is the bad guy. I really hate how Finch is running the school like a prison. I'm glad that Elisabeth gets along well with both Silas and Nathaniel. I have a feeling they are going to need each other to fight Ashcroft in the end. I also think it's cool how Elisabeth seems to be immune to some of Ashcroft's powers. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[More action. I was surprised that Elisabeth let the books loose. I also didn't expect do much destruction in the final battle. Ashcroft really should have listened to them, but I think he was long past rational thinking. I didn't think Nathaniel would be free in the end. I'm glad he got his time back. (hide spoiler)]

i'm really liking this so far.the characters are great.
the magic system is very interesting, they only can have magic if they bargained their life to a demon and magic is inherited or the demons are, there's also classes of demons like the humans.
i wonder why Silas killed Nathaniel's father, he said he had a difficult year after the death of his wife and son so maybe he lost his mind or something like that!

why the demons magic doesn't work on her, she can fight it, does she have some kind of abilities! and why is Ashcroft attacking the libraries!

i didn't like their plan to go confront Ashcroft in front of everyone , i thought no one will believe them but it went well beside Nathaniel getting almost killed and silas death (which made me almost cry because i didn't think he can be summoned back).

I enjoy his interactions with Elisabeth and how after he rescued her from the streets he brought her to Nathaniel and called him out on his caring about her despite his unwillingness to admit it lol. I love the magic system and how the grimoires come to life! Pushing through, hoping to finish this before the night ends so I can log it as a september read! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ So I'm curious if Elisabeth has some sort of sorcerer's lineage or something going on. There is definitely something special about her - being able to resist demons and now falling into the grimoire and talking to Prendergast. I'm anxious to see what Ashcroft sis up to.

The story of Nathaniel's family was heartbreaking and that he still suffers from nightmares about it makes my heart ache for him. (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad they were able to bring Silas back but am worried about what will happen when they set him free - as I expect that will have to happen to end Ashcroft's plan since it was so obviously foreshadowed.... I really loved how the library came to life to lead and help Elisabeth and Nathaniel in the end and how the grimoires themselves came to the rescue to help save the library. I adored seeing Katrien find her place at the Royal Library and her introduction to Parsifal. It broke my heart, seeing Silas die, even though I knew from the moment he told Elisabeth to never ever set him free that that was what would happen in the end.. That epilogue though!!!! Bad news: They actually deleted her file? There apparently is no record anymore of her being apprentice at the great library. This poor girl, this is so unfair, she loved being at that library, she should be able to go back.
