Oops - I totally thought I responded to this already 😅 hmm I will accept either one - if the author with one book is from this year. It’s just supposed to be a new author to you in general.

After your team completes the task for the space you are on, I will spin for the team and tell you what space you have moved to.

No, the spaces and tasks are provided on each team's spreadsheet - which will be in the first message of chat thread :)

Sure thing :)
Sure thing :)
For an assigned task, everyone on the team needs to complete a book for it. If you need more spaces please let me know. I think I added five blank spaces to each task but some teams have more than that so if I forgot to add a space or two - let me know.

Can one of us read 2 books to complete the task, in case someone needs a break or is reading a long book for a different task?

If your team lands on a space that has a certain task - then yes, all 4 people would have to read a book for that said task. However, if a team member has taken longer than a week to start, finish, or post a book for the specific task - I will allow another team member to post a second book for the completion.

Throughout the game, spaces will vary from task related to page point related. So if your team is on a task space, you can add the books that don't fit that specific task to the banked tab and then add those books if they work for another space that your team lands on.

Alaina, for our Graduation task, does the graduation just have to be mentioned? I read a book that had one at the very end, but it was a small scene. Hopefully that still works

Yes, that would work since it was featured within the book st one point.

No, please post them on your team's review thread :)

I know it’s a stretch I’m just having so much trouble finding one where it’s actually taking place and not just mentioned...

I recently read An Abundance of Katherines. Now, John Green didn't specifically SHOW a graduation but it is mentioned in passing e.g., Katherine and Colin had graduated that morning. Does that count?🙈
And then there is the description of a small party Colin and Katherine had together in which they mention that they are now graduates or that they finally graduated from high school and they discuss about it.

sorry for just seeing this now, but yes it would've worked for the graduation task.

Q: Does book by a new author mean they only have 1 book? Or a new to me author?

Q: How do we "spin" and move spaces? Is there a real game board involved?
A: After your team completes the task for the space you are on, I will spin for the team and tell you what space you have moved to.
Q: Are you using a real gameboard?
A: No, the spaces and tasks are provided on each team's spreadsheet - which will be in the first message of chat thread :)
Q: Hmm, for Study abroad - will you accept fictional countries that I don't live in??

Q: Are we to read/complete one book, or five books in our assigned job category?

Q: Do other books we read while completing our tasks (that don’t necessarily fit the task) count for page count/points as well? Do we also put these in the review section or is the point of this readathon to exclusively read books that fit the tasks?
