Arshiya wrote: "I found another one! Option C -
Clock on cover. It works right?"Yes, that one is perfect, Arshiya!
Book Concierge wrote: "Approval please for Option BI live in USA / book is set in France
"That will work, BC.
Claire wrote: "Option A: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon"Time Travel noted for you, Claire for Option A. I'm getting ready to re-read this one :) Hope you enjoy it!
Are embedded genres ok? I'd like to read Landline for option A but "Time Travel" is not a standalone genre there, it is "Science Fiction > Time Travel"
May I get The Here and Now noted for option A? Time travel is currently third in the main page. Thanks!!!!
Deana wrote: "Are embedded genres ok? I'd like to read Landline for option A but "Time Travel" is not a standalone genre there, it is "Science Fiction > Time Travel""It doesn't have to be a stand alone genre, Deana.
Time Travel noted for you on this one.
Nicole wrote: "May I get The Here and Now noted for option A? Time travel is currently third in the main page. Thanks!!!!"Time Travel noted for you, Nicole.
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Would The Greenland Breach work for Option D?"Yes Fiona, this one would work for Option D.
Would this one work for option C:
There's a tiny little clock up at the top, but it's only the clock face. There are no hands on it. Would it still count as a timepiece?
thanks!

Yes Bekka, that will work. To make it easier for the moderators, please point out the clock in your post :)
Emma wrote: "Hi, would this work for option B Broken, set in London England. I am in New Zealand."Yes Emma, this will work for Option B.

Hevabean wrote: "HiI'm reading An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth

Sorry, Hevabean, this will not work. 'Earth' is a planet. I'm looking for a place - like a city, town, state, country, etc :)
The examples in Message #1, as well as the approved books for Option D in Message #2 may be of help in finding the right book.
Hope this helps.
How about
Land of Love and Drowning for option B. I live in the US and this takes place in the Virgin Islands in the early 1900s when the Dutch turned over control to the US. I wanted to be sure that is counts as another place, since they are now partially under US control. Thanks
That's for letting me know. I though Earth night have been stretching it a bit. I'm sure I can fit it into a different task
Rita wrote: "How about

ETA: Rita you might want to check Task 5.10, Task 25.2, Task 25.3, Task 25.5, or Task 25.6. It might work for one of these tasks :)
Hevabean wrote: "That's for letting me know. I though Earth night have been stretching it a bit. I'm sure I can fit it into a different task"That's what is great about this challenge, Hevabean. If a book doesn't work in one place, chances are it will in another one :)
jingles wrote: "Rita wrote: "How about

Would A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess work? I wasn't sure since "clock" isn't a stand-alone word. Thanks!
For Option B would this work:
the book is set in England, though no specific location is named. Crome Yellow is the name of a fictional country house.
Natalie *Amberjune* wrote: "For Option B would this work:

I want to read this book: Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant.Does a biography qualify if the author lives in a different country? The second sentence of the book description states that he is British. Thanks!
Krysti wrote: "Does a biography qualify if the author lives in a different country? "No Krysti, sorry.
However, in taking a quick look back through the tasks, I found a couple of places where this book might fit. Be sure to check these tasks carefully though, and if you are not sure just check in with the help thread for the appropriate task.
Here is what I found:
5.10 - Independent Study
30.2 - Susan A's Task: My Favorite Subject
Option 1: Book with a number visible on the cover.
Option 2: Book with an 'X' or 'Y' in the title/subtitle
The Heist by Daniel Silva : seeking approval for opt #B (another place)of this task for this book. i live in the usa. this book #14 of the Gabriel Allon series is set in differnt countries in europe & the middle east.
Lindy-Lane wrote: "The Heist by Daniel Silva : seeking approval for opt #B (another place)of this task for this book. i live in the usa. this book #14 of the Gabriel Allon series is ..."
Lindy-Lane, I am not familiar with this book or the author. The setting is unclear from the Goodreads description. Do you have a source to link to showing where the book takes place?
Also, is any part of the book set in the US? Or is it all outside the US?
Someone else familiar with the book may be able to help out as well.
jingles wrote: "Lindy-Lane wrote: "The Heist by Daniel Silva : seeking approval for opt #B (another place)of this task for this book. i live in the usa. this book #14 of the Gabri..."
jingles: this book in the series does not take place in the usa. i found this link http://www.harpercollins.com/97800623...
that gives more of a plot description than goodreads has.
Lindy-Lane wrote: "jingles: this book in the series does not take place in the usa. i found this link http://www.harpercollins.com/97800623...that gives more of a plot description than goodreads has ..."
Perfect, Lindy-Lane...as long as no part of the book takes place in the US, it will work.
When you post your task, please be sure to mention the various settings - or at least the primary setting, just in case the moderators need the info :)

Thank you for the suggestions!
Veronica wrote: "Is this ok for part B? 172 Hours on the Moon"That will work for you, Veronica. Enjoy your book!
Sharice, I'm guessing you are wanting to use Watchmen by Alan Moore for Option C?C) Time: Read a book with a time device found on the cover or in the title.
If so, yes it would work for that.
I recently joined the Seasonal Challenge group and I'm still learning my way around. I read this bookBahamarama by Bob Morris
and I was wondering if it would count for option D, since the title only reads "Bahama" and the actual place would be Bahamas.

Sharice wrote: "Hello, I was wondering if
would be acceptable for this task?"Sharice, I apologize for not catching this earlier. Since Watchmen is a graphic novel, it can't be used for a 20 point task, per SRC rules, so you would not be able to use this book for this task.
I apologize for the confusion.
Jessica wrote: "I recently joined the Seasonal Challenge group and I'm still learning my way around. I read this bookBahamarama by Bob Morris

No Jessica, I'm sorry but this one won't work for Option D. I'm looking for an actual place, and Bahamarama isn't an actual place (that I know of).
In taking a quick look through the tasks, I did find a couple of places where you might be able to use this though. Just be sure to check the task requirements very closely, and if you are not sure, check in with the help thread.
Here they are:
Task 5.3 - Choir (Book #1 in a series)
Task 5.10 - Independent Study (book of your choice)
Task 15.9 - Candy Corn (double check the help thread, but I think this cover will qualify as it is primarily yellow)
Task 20.2 - Rookie at the Top
Option D = "Mystery" as a main page genre (you might want to have Hina verify the "mystery" tag for you, as these tags sometimes disappear from the main book page)
Hope this is helpful for you.
