newest »

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next? - I'm a mood reader so probably just whatever I fancy reading at the time or a book that works for one of the challenges I'm working on.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? - Usually I put it down. I read for fun so it's not worth strugging on.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how? - I'd try to catch up. I'd probably target my reading to only books that fit the remaining tasks.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? - Wouldn't bother me. I have a Kindle and they are always changing the covers anyway.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? - Anyone else who didn't like the book. That kind of thing doesn't really bother me anyway.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? - I try not to read books I know will make me cry in public.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it? - Reread it.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? - I mainly read on my Kindle so not a problem for me.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump? - Give reading a rest for a few days and do something else.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying? - Very few, if any. I rarely buy new releases.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them? - Usually absolutely ages. I tend to buy a few books at a time and then I can't decide which one to read first so I end up reading something completely different. I've had books for years that I have still not read.

With all the challenges I am in, they kind of pick the books for !e, lol.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I always complete a book, even if I absolutely hate it.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I try my best, but sometimes no matter what I do I am unable to. I even started listening to more audiobooks while doing other activities to try to help me complete challenges.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
So far I have not had that problem thankfully. If it did happen though I would just imagine my own cover.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
Other people that feel the same way!
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
I have cried in the past in public, so that doesn't bother me.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
No
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Ha, I don't keep books so I would tell them to keep it.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Just keep trying, there is bound to be something I would finish.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Maybe 5, the rest I get from the library.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Usually right away, at most they sit for 3 months.

If I had that many in my list I wouldn't know how to pick what to read next. For the most part I use the ATY challenge to help me pick what is next to read. Also it depends on what books become available at what time for my holds at the library. And then that all gets thrown out the window when a book I pre-ordered come in and stop reading everything to read that one!
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I read the end of the book to see if I will still like it. There are very few books I will put down and not pick back up again to give them a second try. I have found with a few books that if I switch to an audible it makes the book better and I will finish it that way.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I do try by picking shorter books that will fit with what I have left on the challenge.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
That doesn't bother me very much.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I will talk to my sister about it and that's about it.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Try and cry as quietly as I can and hope no one notices me. lol
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
That would depend on when I finished the first book. If it's been more than a year I might reread it.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I don't say no if someone I know wants to borrow my books. As long as they don't wreck my books I am good with lending them out.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
I have found that reading an old favorite book will help me break out of a reading slump.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
That would depend on who they were by. If it was one of my go to authors I would get their books right away, others I would make sure to get on my library hold list as soon as I could.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Not gonna lie I do have some books I bought thingking I would read them right away and it's going on a couple of years they have sat on my shelf unread. But I do try and read favorite authors new books as soon as I get them if they are part of a series I am reading.

I usually mood read or end up reading something I just bought.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
If I am already half way through a book, I am finishing it.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
It depends how far behind I am. If it is a couple of books, I will read like crazy. Otherwise, I will just say oh well, and vow to do better next year.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
They go in a bookshelf anyway, so I will only see the spines. If it is that bad, I will put something in front of it.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I can look on Goodreads. Someone on here always has a 1 star review.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Ugh. I hate when that happens. Hopefully I have sunglasses on because usually the tears just fall.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
I usually don't. Once I get into the new one, the one stuff comes back.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I say my mom is going to borrow it after I am done, or my mom has it.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
I don't do that. I would just read a book super slow if I was in a slump. Then I would turn to one of my go to authors to get out of one.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Usually 2
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
If I am really dying to read them, I get to them pretty fast. It is the ones that just look good on a whim that sit.

This is why I do challenges. I also primarily use overdrive, so it's whatever hold comes available or whatever strikes my fancy from the currently available. Really helps narrow down the choices.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
Yes. I read enough that I don't feel like I'm wasting time reading bad books. Also it can take awhile for me to get into the swing of things so I've definitely gone from hating to really liking after the half way point before.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Yes. With the way my work is, December is usually slow for me so plenty of catch up time.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
My favorite series is guilty of this. I refused to buy the American edition and only bought the English editions. Thankfully they've seemed to only use the English style in the latest books.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I keep quiet until someone else shows their slight dislike. Then they get the full force of my disgust.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Quiet cry and hope no one notices.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Yep and hope they don't just pick up exactly where they left off with my continuation explanation. Divergent, I'm looking at you.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Probably just ramble for way too long about how it's totally not personal, I just only have hard copies of books that are really special to me and I'm sure that would take wonderful care of them but it's definitely not personal...
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Go to my favorite café with a book that I've been looking forward to and not leaving until I'm hooked.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Not many. I move a lot so I only buy my favorite authors and signed copies
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Maybe a year. Since I buy so few I actually ration them out so I'm not stuck somewhere with and empty kindle battery and no physical copy. The horror!

I'm a mood reader so i'll pick whatever i'm in the mood for
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I would weigh the pros and cons of keep reading vs. DNF and whichever wins i'll do
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I would try by reading shorter books and graphic novels, poetry, etc...
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I have never really cared, the three books in my Maze Runner series are all different and i'm fine with it
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I'm sure there will be someone who shares my same opinion, so i'll definitely bond with them. But I respect everyone's opinion and i would listen out to the people who love it in order to get a different perspective, so i would bond with them too by doing so
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
I try not to or go into a bathroom or something but i hate crying in public
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Depends on how much I love the book. If i loved it i would surely re-read it, but if i didn't i would just search a detailed review on youtube
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I usually lend my books out to people I trust, but if that were not the case, i would lie and tell them that i don't lend my books to anyone and hope that they understand
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Re-reading an old favorite always gets me going
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
One or two and resist temptation
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Depends on how excited I am to read them compared to other books, but they don't usually wait long before i pick them up

Just grab one.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
Put it down and then feel guilty for a while but not enough to pick it up again.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Depends on how far behind I am. If I'm just a few books behind I will up my reading game. If I am way behind I just do what I can and hope to do better the next year.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I hate it and may give it away and get matching one.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
Usually my mom because we have the same taste if not I can usually find someone on Goodreads who feels the same.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
I close the book and wait till I get home.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Reread!
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Tell them someone else borrowed it, or that it belongs to someone else.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Fan fiction!
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Not as many as I would like. I can only afford to buy one book a month.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
A year sometimes more sometimes less.

Reading challenges help with this! I usually plan it in advance, and have the flexibility to swap them out as needed.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
Sadly, I am committed. My friends always tell me I'm ridiculous and not to waste time, but I've been known to spend way too much time on books (even very long ones) that I knew from the start I wasn't enjoying.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Yep! I will update my plans/goals. I may change out some of the books into shorter/quicker reads to help catch up. I'm also frequently planning how much I need to read - eg. 'If I read 1/4 of a book every day until the end I will make it on time.'
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
It's a bit annoying on the shelf, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much as some people!
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I would probably just not feel the need to talk about it much. If I have a close friend talking about how much they love it, I might have a little discussion/debate with them.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
This doesn't happen much, but I think just putting it down and pausing/staring off into space for a while to get myself together would do the trick.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Probably not. I may either look up a summary to jog my memory, or just hope that the sequel will bring it all back once I start.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I've never had an issue with someone borrowing a book, I love sharing the books I enjoyed and having people to speak with about them! But I will start to passively remind them if it's been a while and I haven't gotten it back ("How are you enjoying the book? Is it finished yet?") And may get more direct if I need to!
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
I don't often stop reading books, but usually a cheesy, easy-to-read YA book will get me out of a slump.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
I try to limit myself to 3 at a time
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Varies a lot. Some have been on my shelf for over a year (even ones I couldn't WAIT to read) and others I'll start within the week!

I don't have that much, I find that if I added to TBR I tend not to read it, so I only add to remind me to read that author/books. I read as need by reading challenges, books reco-ed by friends, libraries, etc
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
There are so many books, there is no need to torture myself to continue reading the book that I don't like. The only exception if my friends tell me it is worth continuing as the good part is upcoming
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I generally don't wait until the last minute.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
It's irritating, but luckily I can get over my irritation quickly. Change the cover by choosing different edition, if possible.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I don't
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Reduce my tearing to sniffing, hiding half of my face with my hands...
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Yes, I will first try to read the blurb of the first book, read couple of detailed reviews, if I still can't figure out, just reread.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I am ok with people borrowing my books.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Changing from ebook to audiobook or vice versa helps me get over the slump.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
My local library and overdrive has wide collection. So I buy only when the book I want to read is not available
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Longer than it should be :(

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? I know I should put it down but I almost never do.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how? Yes, absolutely try to catch up. By playing hooky at work. :)
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? Read them and give them away.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? Find someone who rated it one star on Goodreads!
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? Go ahead and cry! And then gesture helplessly to the book if anyone gives you a weird look.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it? No, there's a great website that gives you a book synopsis if you need it for just such an occasion.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? I can't answer this because I give my books away when I'm done with them, so this wouldn't happen.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump? Also can't answer this, have never been in a reading slump. I think I would just find another book I liked better than the 5 I have rejected. Challenges help too.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying? 1-2....I get a lot at the library.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them? Lord, sometimes years.

I use challenges to narrow it down, or I go with what I am in the mood for reading at the time
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I very rarely DNF books but it takes me longer to read the books I am not loving.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
If I can I will try and catch up, trying to read more or listening to more audiobooks, but it is not the end of the world if I do not complete my reading challenge
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I try to find covers that match and give away the ones that don't.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I just tell my opinion to other people and try and have a discussion about it. It is more interesting when people do not agree, because you have to come up with good arguments to back up your opinion.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do .you deal?
I try not to, but usually the just come. Then I try to be discrete about it.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
I have a very good memory so I trust that things come back to me as I read, so no I am not going to reread it.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I have no problem borrowing my books, because I trust my friends to take care of them.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
I try to get to my favorite genres and go to something familiar, maybe the next book in a favorite series I started but didn't finish.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
I don't buy a lot of books. I try to borrow most books from the library. There are maybe 4-5 books a year that I really want to read and I buy maybe a couple of them.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
They can sit a long time. Years maybe. Unless it is the next book in a series I am reading, then it goes pretty fast till I read it

Reading challenges, randomly picking a book that strikes my interest at that time, random number generator, unhaul uninteresting books ... fortunately, my TBR is now down to 49, a manageable number that doesn't make me anxious :).
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
If I am reading it for a prompt or buddy read, I might force myself to read it. However, I am more and more inclined to DNF the book and move on the another these days.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I try to catch up by reading shorter books and easy reads

I will stop reading and think of other things to distract myself.

Depends; I may just read an online summary of the book before reading the sequel.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I don't mind someone borrowing my books; so I haven't really say

By re-reading a favorite or reading something easy.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Right now, I am only buying sequels to series that I have already started or auto-buy authors. The other books I get from the library, especially if I have never read a book by that particular author.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Some I read immediately, others with 6 months. I am really working on not buying books until I can read them at the time that I buy them.

I use it to finish reading challenges. I also put suggestions from friends on there so I can discuss the books with friends. Sometimes I just randomly pick a book off of it to read.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I always finish the book but sometimes I will have to read things in between finishing it if it's super hard to finish.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Yes, I try to only rent books from the libraries for challenges and power through.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I just go with the flow of it.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I just talk about my opinions anyway. We all like different things at times.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Just discreetly wipe my eyes and continue reading. Or think about something funny to change my emotions.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
I'll find a quick review to catch up if I need to.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I suggest the library if it's books that I seriously don't want to part with it.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Find a trashy quick romance read to get me back into reading.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
I only buy certain authors. The rest I go to the library for.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
I usually try to read them right away but no longer than a couple weeks.

I just pick for whatever book I'm in the mood for.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I hate not finishing books and would probably stick with it and try to finish it quickly to move on to something else.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
I would try my best to catch up but know that I tried my best. I would look to see what categories are left and try to choose smaller books to see how far I can go.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
This drives me crazy! I would try to track down the ones I do not have and pray I can find them.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
Goodreads! Everyone has such different taste that there are others out there that feel the same way about it, even though everyone else may love it.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Bite my lip and try not to.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Yes, especially if it has been awhile since I read the first one. Otherwise, maybe find a good synopsis of it and read that to refresh my memory.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Honestly, no on ever asks to borrow my books except for my mom sometimes. I think I would just say nicely that I can't lend it out or if there was a cheap copy available on Amazon, surprise them and get it for them as a gift.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Try re-reading one of my favorite books and hope that gives me the spark back.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Too many! I try to limit to only 2 per purchase but that doesn't always happen...
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Sadly, quite a while sometimes. I check out a lot of books from the library as well so those I buy tend to sit a long time.

The benefit of reading challenges - what do I need to finish a prompt? Or, what library hold just came in? That really decides what I'm reading next most often!
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I'm trying to get better about DNF/Abandoning a book if its just not for me.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Yes - time to get some audiobooks and ignore my family :)
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
Get used copies of the ones that don't match - They need to match!
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Get some tissues and keep reading
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Probably not, sadly.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Just politely say no, I don't feel comfortable loaning out that book.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Grab something super short and fun, like a middle grades book or graphic novel.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
I start with the library, and try and get as many as I can that way.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Sadly, way too long!

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? 99.9% of the time I am going to finish reading it. I think i've only ever quite on 1 or 2 books in my whole life.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how? Yes, I would try to devote more time to reading.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? I give away my books when I finish them so this would not apply to me
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? I would look for other online reviews with those who had similar feelings to me.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? I can't picture this happening. I guess if it did, I would stop reading until I got home.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it? No, I will likely try to read a synopsis online or hope that the second book does a good job recapping the most important points from book 1.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? I give all my books away when I finish them so this would not apply to me
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump? Pick a shorter book and finish it to motivate myself to keep finishing.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying? None, I will request them from my local library
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them? If I did purchase them, they would probably sit there a bit too long (many months) because Ill be focused on the many library books I checked out and having them read in time to take back by their due date

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? - If I'm just not loving it, I continue because it might get better. If I absolutely HATE it, then I put it down and move on.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how? - I focus more on my reading instead of on youtube, tv, sleeping, etc.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? - I get irritated beyond belief. I collect Sue Grafton books and the first 5 or so books do not match the rest of the series of 25 books. If matches existed, then I would hunt the internet and used bookstores for the rest of my life to find them!
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? - I keep my opinion to myself and hope no one ever brings it up in conversation!
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? - I don't cry real tears over a book so......
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it? - I usually can remember if I go back and read the synopsis of the earlier books. If I can't remember anything then I might reread the previous books if it won't take too long.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? I tell them that if they want the book then they can have it because I know full well it won't get returned so why pretend otherwise? I'll just pick up another copy. No big deal.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump? - I usually just wait it out. At some point I will want to read again, so why push it?
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying? - I rarely pre-order books. And I tend to wait until a book shows up as a used copy at my book store before purchasing it. I'm cheap like that.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them? - It could be months which is why I usually wait until I find them used. I don't want to pay $20 for a book that I won't read for 6 months.

I pick something for a challenge
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
I watch tv and try again later
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Up ALL night reading LOL...this starts every October
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
Nope....I buy matching covers and I hate when kindle changes them
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
you guys???? Youre my only book friends.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Cry LOL
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Every. Time.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
Ugh! So glad this hasnt happened to me lately. I never get them back. I dont say no but most of my books are on kindle so I dont have to share.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Netflix binge until I feel up to it again
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
last year pretty much all of them, this year I had to make friends with my library and borrow
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
most of them NEVER. I have sooooooooo many.

Luckily I don’t have that many, but still way to many! I use reading challenges for that
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
Depends. If I need it for a challenge, or it’s a BoTM I am more likely to try to push through.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
No, then it would become a hazzel instead of fun. But I might start allocating one book to more prompts to try to fullfill the challenge that way.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
This I don’t like – why do they do this? I might just donate the whole series, so that I don’t have to look at it anymore, lol
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
That’s what GR are for, right?

I’ll probably put it down and continue when I’m back home or in a less crowded place
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Sometimes yes. If there’s a movie of the prequel, I’ll probably watch that instead of rereading the book
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I have no problem lending out my books, I love getting more people to discover a great read. Most of the time, I get it back as well, and I also donate a lot of the books I have read
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
I’ll probably just stop reading, and only listen to audio and watch more tv
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
Probably none, but rather stand in the waiting line in the library. I’m generally not big on new releases, so this doesn’t happen that often
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Too long, unfortunately. I guess that's the joy of books ;)

-This is exactly the reason why I do reading challenges. I was having such a hard time finding what to read next and when I started doing reading challenges that disappeared!
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
-I only put books down if I find them reprehensible. They really have to repulse me before I quit.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
-Eh, the reading challenges I do are mostly to give me a gentle nudge and to help me decide what to read next. If I don't finish them I try not to let it drive me crazy.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
-Meh, I have a very small book shelf and I do not
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
-My library patrons are very well versed on my feelings about Patterson. I don't bond, I try to convert. >:-)
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
-I find a tissue so I can blow my nose if need be.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
-No, I go to the internet to refresh my memory.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
-I work in a library, I direct them to the public library. :-D
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
-Sometimes I need to pursue other hobbies for awhile and come back to reading later.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
-Zero, I do not buy books if I can at all help it. Like I said, I have to love love love a book to own it.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
- :) see above

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? If I'm halfway, I'm finishing that puppy. If I just started I'll put it back and pick it up at a later date, I find sometimes I'm just not mentally ready for a book.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Nope, I stay my current speed.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? I'm not that OCD. It doesn't bother me.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? It's their opinions. I may love it, they may hate it, it's ok.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? Oh just cry! Who knows, someone might want to read the book to find out why you're crying.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Yep, or I read a synopsis online.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? As long as I get them back, I'm cool with people borrowing. If I have special ones, I just politely say no.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump? Reread an old favorite.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying? As many as my bank account allows.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
They can sit there for years...

A lot depends on my mood and how I am feeling. Sometimes I choose the book that is due back at the library and I can't renew. Sometimes I choose a book written by one of my favorite authors.
2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
If I am not enjoying a book, I don't read it. Life is too short to read books I don't enjoy.
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
No I don't, If I am behind, I am behind. It just reminds me to shorten the challenge next year.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I don't collect books so not a problem.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
I don't apologize if I don't love a book everyone else is loving. I just listen to their opinion and that is that.
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
I don't often read in public, but if I was and started to cry, I would just use a tissue to wipe my eyes.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Probably not, although I am currently re-reading an entire series because I wanted to remember everything that had happened.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I don't have this problem, because I don't often buy books. I also don't have a problem with sharing books and letting them go.
9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Go back and read a book I really enjoyed or ask for recommendations from friends whose judgement I trust.
10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
I use the public library because then if I don't like a book, I am not stuck with a book.
11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
Sometimes for a long long long time.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed? Put it down!
3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how? Hmm that's a tough one. I probably would think about trying to catch p all the time but I really read as often as I can already so I couldn't really do much more.
4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope? I'm alright with it.
5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings? Goodreads members!
6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal? I cry. I cry all the time while I'm reading. Even in public.
7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it? Probably not but I would read the detailed summary/recap on Google.
8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks? I can't answer this because I would let anyone read my books. Then I can talk to them about it and that excites me more then actually having a perfect condition book.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them? Too long!! The books that I own always see to get looked over for library books. It's too bad too because I usually only buy the books I really want to read!
