We have one thread for each book as Goodreads has made a spoiler tag that you can use to put before anything that is a spoiler. Use your discretion as to what would be a pretty big spoiler and label it. Please put up to what page the spoiler is for.

To create the tag simply do this:

*Take out the spaces in both of the spoiler tag.

Being a new mom, I had a really hard time reading Fantine's story line. I seriously bawled two or three times. You never get quite the same gruesome details in the movies or the musical. (view spoiler)[Like she sold her teeth before she became a prostitute? Really?! How awful is that?? Sad part is the Thenardiers didn't even need it for Cosette... So much sacrifice for such dishonesty... (hide spoiler)]I could not imagine going through everything she did: the fear of being a single mom, having to give up seeing your child and then being treated so harshly by society when they found out about your past. I know some women still have to go through similar things, but I am glad that at least society is a little more forgiving and there are more opportunities for happy endings...
