I am at work today but I will check in during my lunch hour to see where everyone is at.

From my read shelf:
Madeline Miller
Fatimah Farheen Mirza
Erin Morgenstern
From my TBR shelf
Rebecca Makkai
Tiffany McDaniel

some ideas from my TBR:
Kate Morton
Madeline Miller
if anyone wants to recheck the published book counts on these......
I ruled out ..."
Kate Morton has too many books also.

I really liked Tangerine and it definitely has a plot twist or two or three.

I have recommended books I can read, but not anything I'm close to finishing so if anyone else is closer, that would be great.

Yes, Edie - There have been several twists and I'm anxious to get to the final one!

on my list there Mary Ann Marlowe is she writes Romance, Chick Lit, Fiction and only has 3 books all writen in the last couple of years.
There is also Laura Lane McNeal she has one book she published in 2014 its listed as Fiction, Historical Fiction, Classics.
Amy Meyerson has one book and most people shelve it as fiction.
Melissa Muldoon she has 4 books and writes Fiction, History, Italy.

I was thinking Madeline Miller and Erin Morganstern would be too close to fantasy to consider.. but I could be wrong?
Edie, that just means that in the book blurb on Goodreads, there's a question in it!

I'm starting I Just Want to Pee Alone: A Collection of Humorous Essays by Kick Ass Mom Bloggers.
It has Alone in the title or we could use for page counts.
If the subtitle counts we could also save it for more than 20 letters in the title. Also there is a question in the synopsis. It is " Hasnt every mother said it before?"
Let me know where you want to slot it so I can pace my ( very slow) reading.

Also completed 89 pages yesterday. Should finish The Tale Teller today. Not sure if it works for any prompts.

Yep, that's exactly what's meant.

I only read 20 pages yesterday.

My reading total for 6/12 was 414 pages.
I did the shelf sorting prompt.
For long titles, I agree it would be good to get a mod determination on subtitles counting or not. I have one book option (Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come: An Introvert’s Year of Living Dangerously) that would work for 20 letters without a subtitle involved, but I have only read a few pages into it. I'd likely quickly be able to finish On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft as it is a pretty quick read and I'm well into it.
We are one game away from another question, so we can ask one more and then maybe guess? Do we want to go with Goodreads Choice award?
Tracy, just read, and we will fit it in when you get done... it sounds like it fits for almost everything!
We can check with the mods on the subtitles thing, but I would expect it to count.

I think the Goodreads Choice is a good option to narrow things down!

I missed logging your book, Deborah, but that was a good solution! We are finished with Bucket 14!
Next up is Bucket 15 with a book with a twist ending and a chick-lit or romance. We have quite a few options, so just let me know when you all finish it!
On deck with Bucket 16 is a book with a heart on the cover or in the title and 2 books from countries you've never been to, none of which are claimed. If you're working on books that would fit those prompts, let me know!
Our next question will be:
Has our author won or were nominated for a Goodreads Choice award?

Edit: I also should be down for the shelf sort and 414 pages on 6/12 (all of which were in the one post that probably just got missed in the shuffle). :)
Whoops, sorry about that Deborah! Sometimes Goodreads likes to pretend I read posts that I didn't actually read.
Make sure we have cleared Bucket 15 before you finish The Lost Man!

Excellent, Kathy! Now we are just waiting on a book with a romance in it!
We are still short about 3,000 pages for the next bucket, so please be logging your pages!

Looking at the spreadsheet looks like I forgot to say i did the Syn/Ant and Halfway. I just completed Sort Your Read Shelf.

Given that our author was nominated for a Goodreads award should we use one of our guesses on Fatima Farheen Mirzai. She checks all the questions we have answers to.
And we just finished Bucket 15! So we have another question if we need it.
We are now on Bucket 16, with a book with a heart and two books set in countries you haven't been to. We are also still short 2,500 pages, so get those page counts in tonight!
On deck with Bucket 17 is a book involving an animal and two books by authors of color. Let me know if you're reading something that will fit this. We will probably not get through Bucket 16 as quickly since we need those page counts, so you have a bit of time for these.

Goodreads likes to add some extra challenge to the challenge!
I definitely will check in before I finish and hold off on the end until needed! EDIT: nevermind because we're already ready for the next bucket - go team! I will work on The Lost Man as soon as I get home from work tonight!
After The Lost Man, I also am working on With the Fire on High which would work for author of color if we still need it then.

Our first official guess is: Fatima Farheen Mirza
(Also, PS. we are two buckets ahead of the other teams! Go Butterflies!!)

On a side note, her novel A Place for Us is probably my favorite read of the year. Highly recommended.
EXCELLENT! GREAT WORK TEAM!
Do we want to try for another author? We have another 7 questions just from the buckets, so I think we could give it a go.
