SOLVED. YA book set in both present and history: two girls who have nothing in common but have to work together to defeat someone? [s]

I'm sorry I don't have more information but I only recall reading the summary of this book and not the book itself, and I really would like to find it. I believe one girl is set in the present and the other girl is living 200 years before but somehow they have to work together. There might be assassins involved as well (they might be the assassins) but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
