This book is a comedy. I read this around 2010. It was published anywhere between 2000 and 2010. It's about a female writer who lives in NYC and wants to lose weight and goes to groups for support. She finds the doctor to be really handsome, and he likes her as well. He checks in with her progress a lot. In the meantime, she is on and off again with her ex. I can't give more details due to spoilers.
