msg 148 also says "so you will never start reading for the original word" but that might not actually be true...

Say, A) you start reading a book on June 20th, but it's super mega long and you don't finish it until week 4. Then obviously you would have to figure out what Week 4 letter to use it for, whether or not you had a Chipmunk Respin for Week 4. [This is not the same as "banking" a book.]
Or B) you discover on Wed that your word is Beige. You are then offline until Saturday for some reason. On Friday night you start reading a book with a B title. When you come back online on Saturday you discover that your team asked for a Respin on Thursday and got the word Coffee. But you're in luck, because your B title book also happens to have an F author.

Does that make sense too?

Yes, those examples are true (though example A not directly relevant - the risk of starting a mega long book only to discover it won't fit your word when you finish it is the same for spin or respin)

The point I was trying to make is that you won't be submitting BEIGE words for two days and then respin.

And the moral of example B is: if your book is only going to fit two letters (cos it's non-fic, say), make sure your captain knows!

Gotcha. It read to me different but if the new word is being put out before that week starts, then this makes sense.
