She's coming to my area on the 15th, so I'll be attempting to go to the book signing.
I pre-ordered it from Barnes and Noble even though I have had problems pre-ordering e-books. The price went up to $16.99 and that scared me so I ordered it as soon as it went back to $13.99. Now it is $12.99- darn!
Can you cancel your order and place it again?
That was my thoughts. In her GR group Harrison is doing a Q&A today for those interested.
I don't understand why the ebook prices fluctuate so much before the physical book is even out.
I think they're trying to work their way up into the best seller's lists. They're probably shooting for a certain spot?
It just shows purchased on the button and there is no way to do anything to cancel it. Maybe I can call and talk to somebody at Barnes and Noble about it. I know someone said Amazon guarantees that you get the lowest pre-order price but I don't know about Barnes and Noble. I know it's just a dollar, but still.
I also don't understand how you can buy the latest release in a series for $7.99 or $9.99 and some of the older books in the series are $5.99 or 7.99 but others fluctuate from $9.99, $10.99 or $12.99. Arrrgh! (Chicagoland Vampires). And when there is a special pre-release paperback price that is $2 or $3 less than the pre-ordered e-book? WTH? (This was a month or so ago, the upcoming Guild Hunter book)

As much as I want to read this book I just cannot do the $12.99 ugggWHY??
So I am going to use my audible credit I guess I will finish it around Halloween lol
I got an e-mail that $1.08 will be refunded but now the book, which I downloaded yesterday, is gone, from my Nook, and worst of all, from my Nook library. When I go to Shop it shows purchase $12.99 instead of Download (or purchased as it did prior to release). It looks like they cancelled my order and deleted it from my account (possibly?) but without a full refund? I have messaged them and hopefully they can get this straightened out soon. I am anxious to start reading it but not anxious enough to pay for it twice. :( Sigh....

I intend to get some books signed when Harrison makes her way to Tampa and give them away on my blog. I usually have only a handful of people enter my giveaways, so if you enter, there's a very good chance you'll win one. I think I'll make this one so people can enter without having to follow my blog to enter. She comes on the 15th so as long as I or someone in the family doesn't get sick, I should be able to get the books. It'll be US only, though.

**********Almost to the midway pointI'm liking that Al seems to be getting along with Rachel again.
So the demons made gargoyles and vampires. They said witches were stunted demons. Did witches truly come second or are demons the true off shoots of witches? They did say you needed two parents with the Rosewood gene to get the condition.
I wonder how the elves and demons are related, if at all?
*************Spoilers for the first 8 chaptersI guess with all the talk throughout the series it's no big surprise that the vamps would push the issue with Rachel of getting their souls back. I didn't think they really thought their plan all the way through when they tried to force the issue, however. When Kisten died with his soul intact, there was no way of knowing if it was because his second death happened so close to the first. It also brought up the question as to whether or not a vampire is reunited with their soul when they die their final death. It will be interesting to see how or if souls can be reunited with their bodies before that time.

Nook/B&N restored it to my "digital locker" Wednesday the 10th so I finally got to start it. Thanks to the delay, I am only on Chapter 7, though.
**********************SPOILERS FOR THE END*******************A lot of unexplained loose ends in this one...
I wondered what happened to Cormel. They said it would be at least a week before his soul found him and last we heard it hadn't. Once the "new" vamps were created, Cormel was ancient history. Are we to assume he committed suncide? I would have loved to see how the old and new master vamps stood up to one another or did the old masters all die? It sounded like some survived.
I thought the switch from present day to the future was rather abrupt at the end. Shouldn't it have been labeled as an epilogue? Her use of "The Beginning", however, instead of "The End" made me wonder if we'll get a spin-off to the series? Perhaps then our questions will be answered? Probably just me wishful thinking.
Jenks and some of his kids are still alive at the end, yet it's been 24 years since he was biggie sized. Sounds like a story was missed and there was no explanation.
At one point it sounded like Belle and Jenks would be a couple, but Jenks hardly mentioned her in this book. She's there, but in the background.
I was hoping we'd find out something about Edden's son, Glenn, but unlike most authors, Kim didn't create a big reunion scene where we find out what happened to everyone. The wedding would have been a perfect event to get us up-to-date with everyone.
Plus, I would have liked to see a little more of the "new" world that was created. Was the new Ever After a duplicate of the old or more like the Tulpa Rachel created? How were the supernaturals and humans getting along and how were the elves dealing with their new Goddess?
Other than the loose ends, I liked the ending. We finally see where all the pieces in the series fit together. The big questions were answered like can a vampire keeps its soul.
I went to the book signing today. Kim says there'll be one more story--a short story given from Al's perspective. She said she finished The Witch With No Name and this story came to her and Al will have the last word. It'll be called Sudden Backtrack and will come out in October, but it doesn't appear to be listed anywhere (which she stated it wouldn't). How fun!

Lisarenee, you're right there were a lot of loose ends, I also wonder if Rachel might do a curse for Trent to help him live even longer since 27 years later he seemed to be showing some aging, or if they'll just keep the standard 200? I would of liked Rachel to tell Al at some point how much she cares about him and vice versa, I'm sure they both know it but I kept wanting them to just let it out.Also at the end I wonder what happened to Edden, and it would of been nice for Glen to make an appearence or even be mentioned. I mean Edden son showed up a lot in some of the previous books then all of a sudden he's gone, he was their good friend, and even at one point Ivy's lover, and then just leaves and isn't mentioned anymore.

I remember reading that but I don't know why he was "freaking out" or what he was really freaking out over? I doubt it was the 3 some. I at least thought he would keep in touch with Rachel and Jenks. Or Edden who remained their friend would make a comment about him, since they were all pretty close.
I almost forgot to mention, they said that Al's short story would be included in the Mass Market version when it comes out.

I could be wrong. Hmmmm... The aging makes one wonder.

It was such a quick splice from the series that I'd hope we'd find out what happened to him.
