This week I'm reading Adam Only by Roe Horvat

Stacey (staceyissassy) Hello!!

I'm currently reading the puzzler from a couple of weeks ago, Scoring With the Wrong Twin by Naima Simone. I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm listening to a favourite re-read/listen, Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid.

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments I've got one of Eloisa's faves: Burn for Me. Terrific so far!

Chocolatesoup | 398 comments Stacey & Susan I just love anything written by Penny Reid or Ilona Andrews-good stuff!

I just finished and really enjoyed Teach Me by Olivia Dade. I'm listening to one of my top favorites The Hating Game by Sally Thorne.

I've DNF'd a couple of books this last week and I've realized that I no longer wish to invest time into so-so books.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Finished up Kristen Callihan's VIP series, so far. Read IDOL, MANAGED and FALL. I liked them. Something little that I couldn't quite put my finger on bothered me about KC's characterizations. Maybe it's as simple as I'm getting old and all the swearing and mental lusting is getting old. I'm definitely not a prude but it gets old when it's page after page of the same old thing. And when EVERY character talks the same way. I have a girlfriend who drops the "F bomb" every other word and another girlfriend who I don't think we've ever heard swear! It seems like everyone talks the same and that's kind of disappointing. Except Scottie, who is a little more proper. I like that about him. It makes his character stand out from the rest. Anyway, I have high hopes that Brenna's character will be a little different from all the other women in this series.

So, you reminded me that I have Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid on my Kindle and haven't read it yet, Stacey. So I think I'm going to give it a try and see if I can get into a new series.

I've got The Hating Game on my Audible Wish List...if only there weren't 20 others also on there...and I didn't get distracted by the new and pretty every time my credit becomes available. ;-)

I'm thinking this months credit I'm going to listen to Pestilence by Laura Thalassa because the new one comes out this week...I think. :-)

I completely get where you're coming from. I think by reading them with gaps in between I wouldn't have noticed it as much. Scottie will always be my favourite...because he looks like Mr Gandy. ;-)

I absolutely LOVED the Knitting in the City series. Penny Reid writes very original and quirky characters.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Good to know about the Knitting in the City series. I'm really looking forward to diving into another series. I've only read a few pages, but I love her humor!

I highly recommend Penny Reid! Especially considering your frustration with cookie cutter characters, I do not think you'll be disappointed with her work.
