What Are You Reading....The Third
The Monster Baru Cormorant (2nd in the series) and House of Leaves and American Gods.(I read books at the same time, sorry - got my morning book, book to take to work, and evening book)
I just finished Going Rogue and am getting ready to start 1 or all of these: Two Old Broads: Stuff You Need to Know That You Didn’t Know You Needed to Know, Haunted by the Past, Tough Titties: On Living Your Best Life When You're the F-ing Worst
Cloud Cuckoo Land. Holy cow, it's everything I love in a story; imagination, depth of thought, all the feels. Let's call it a coming of age story, coming of age in so many ways.

Reading The Kite Runner….finally. It’s been on my “to read” list for quite a while. It’s excellent. Definitely living up to expectations.
Just finished Lore Olympus: Volume Two and I still really like the series. It's avoiding a lot of tropes and isn't afraid to get complicated.I'm still reading and enjoying The Histories and it's riveting. History is so much more engaging when you aren't attempting to turn everybody into paragons.
Haven't posted for a while but I have a good excuse. I've been reading lots of cozy mysteries and science fiction but I'm finally reading the 3rd book in the Beartown series, The Winners by Fredrik Backman and Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman. Enjoying both of them.
Just about to finish Things Worth Fearing by Anthony Davies. It's so suspenseful and I really, really relate to the main characters, Claire and her best friend Steven. Away at the cottage for a weekend, things go soooo bad, and it's sooo realistic. Love it---twenty pages to go!
I'm currently reading between two fires by Christopher Buehlman, The paradox of choice by Barry Schwartz and The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
I’m about half way through The Piccadilly Plot, the 7th book in the Thomas Chaloner series, by Susanna Gregory. Historical fiction, there’s 14 books altogether in the series, so I have a way to go yet!
I just finished the Shadow and Bone trilogy. I really enjoyed it and now I can watch the show on Netflix :)The book I'm reading next is For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten.

I thought I was the only one who did this. At any time, I'm actively reading 2-5 books.
I found this book while walking through my local book store and I can not seem to put this down. I highly recommend if your looking for a good witch story to pick up.
The Sorrows of OthersA book that we are reading is a short story collection by debut author Ada Zhang. My (Lydia!) personal favorite story from the collection is "The Subject." It's about a college-age Asian woman who ends up living with this elderly asian woman, and it explores that dynamic between old and young as well as immigration. It does all this through the use of the interview form, a structural technique that really amplifies the emotion of the story. Check it out if you get the chance!
I am reading and loving Blended and Sam Kerr Kicking Goals Journal and Teen Killers Club Love all three XO Teen Killers Club on speed read
I’ve started following this story called Pests it’s in the future and some humans are put in a terrarium with other intelligent creatures, it’s pretty good. https://www.amazon.com/kindle-vella/e...
Just finished Mao, Vol. 6 and it's still good. Rumiko is good at adding personality and humor to her stories.I'm now starting The Sting of the Wild and have no idea what to expect.
I am reading "Abide with Me" by Elizabeth Strout for book club and listening to "Separation Anxiety" by Laura Zigman. On my TBR shelf is now "My Year of Rest and Relaxation" by Moshfegh, Ottessa because it's apparently what all the "hot girls" are reading. LOL

I read the Ottessa one a while back. I wasn't overly impressed.

"To Be With You Again" would be a good choice for a recently-released choice - tinyurl.com/ToBeWithYouAgain - on Kindle Unlimited, eBook, and Paperback!A vanishing blemish or the loss or wrinkles seems like anyone's dream, but in the reality of To Be With You Again, it's the mark of something tragic. Follow the members of a community as they form relationships, navigate tough decisions, and attempt to say goodbye before it's too late. Each chapter shifts from different narratives that inter-connect and come together in a devastating and life-affirming conclusion.
Perfect for book clubs, binge reading, or savoring by the chapter, To Be With You Again approaches situations and characters with humanity, honesty, curiosity, and empathy. This may even be a book you need to read twice to uncover all the mysteries within!
I have no idea how Idols of Perversity: Fantasies of Feminine Evil in Fin-de-Siècle Culture ended up on my To Read list but I'm enjoying it so far. It's much denser than my last few reads but well done.I like learning about art with the context in place. A lot of times it's just a picture we're expected to admire.

I listened to that one on audio. I really enjoyed it too!

I have lots of good non-fiction books on my shelves but I liked this one a heap and keep coming back to it to refer to and use again and again so maybe this is my fav ever? All round awesomeness, love Sam Kerr and gave it 5stars Kicking Goals Journal
I am reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles and a non-fiction by Robert Boyers, The Tyranny of Virtue.
I just finished Indirogenium (which is worth 5 stars, trust me!) and I'm now reading The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. So far I really like it, it's definitely better than the movie!
Hey, I've just finished Truckers by Terry Pratchett and I've moved onto Brisingr as it's been staring at me from my book shelf for a couple of months and whispering "read me next, read me next!"
Just finished the following books today: Kidnapped - Part 2 - James Patterson FINISHED 31/3/2024
Kidnapped - Part 3 - James Patterson FINISHED 31/3/2024
Kidnapped - Part 4 - James Patterson FINISHED 31/3/2024
Kidnapped - Part 5 - James Patterson FINISHED 31/3/2024
After finishing The Righteous by David Wragg (Can very much recommend the duology to anyone who's into First Law or anything similar), I initially started reading Where the Dark Stands Still by A. B. Poranek, but I've had to pause it for now, the third person/present tense and the particular writing style isn't really doing it for me and I think I need to get over the initial cringe of the author sticking Polish words in there randomly but they're all grammatically wrong and it all just looks a bit off :') So instead I've picked up Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, which has been on my TBR for a while, and funnily enough it's also written in third person/present tense, but it's a very enjoyable read so far :)
I also am putting a book on pause. A Masked Deception by Mary Balogh got a little ridiculous for me. I just can't understand why he doesn't recognize his wife just because she's wearing a costume. I couldn't get into it.I moved on to Log Horizon, Vol. 9: Go East, Kanami! and this going much better. There's a lot more exposition in this book than the previous ones but it's still moving along.
Just finished Geek Love, which I've owned for a while but just never felt compelled to pick it up. Sad that I waited so long because I absolutely loved it.
i've just finished The Palestine Laboratory by Antony Loewenstein. amazing book. suggest everyone reads it.
I'm rereading Blood Song by anthony Ryan. It's like a literary adrenaline shot -- a whirlwind of friendship, warcraft, and enough magic to make a wizard's head spin. It's the kind of book that makes you want to throw your Kindle across the room (but only because you're so excited to turn the page). If this isn't on your must-read list, you're missing out on a literary feast fit for a king.

Two-thirds through Lonesome Dove. The character development is exquisite and the prose magnificent. So good, it has a chance to reach all time #1 on my list depending on the final third.
