Hi, I'm new to this group and I wanted to share my current reads. I just started "The Devil and the Dark Water" by Stuart Turton, and it's going great. It's my first time reading a book from this author and I hope he won't let me down. Have you read this book? What did you think? :)

I have also read and enjoyed his The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.
I read The Whitest Flower!by Brendan Graham.A brilliant well told story about the epic struggle of the irish people for independence.

In the middle of Anxious People, by Fredrik Backman. Loving it so far! I feel there's so much gold in the insights and words that he uses.
I loved this one so much I found it difficult to write a coherent review.

Hello Everyone. Right now I am reading two books - and about to start a third. I can tell when I am not REALLY super engaged, because I don't long to get back to my reading chair and I don't long to find out what has happened to the main characters in a book. I am almost done with LATER by Stephen King (recent) and THE FEMALE DETECTIVE which was written in the mid 1860s. I wanted to read the later because I also write a female detective series and I wanted to see the genesis of this character (she pre-dated Sherlock by a few decades. Both books are interesting, but are not grabbing my "gotta read/finish now" antennae. Today I'm adding a Tana French LIKENESS -

Heya, everyone. My first day in this group, so I'd like to be polite by saying hello! Recently I've been reading Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, a book about a few septuagenarians caught up in a murder mystery, and determined to solve it! So far, I've found the book really enjoyable and humorous at times. Would highly recommend :)

_Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst_ has been on my bedside for a long time now. I like it, but it's very dense and slow-going, and I often have to flip to the back to remind myself what certain neurological terms mean. The material is fascinating: neurobiology, and why we do the things we do--and in spite of his lofty subject, author Robert Sapolsky is hilarious. The big payoff is that once you finish a book so weighty, you get to feel smug about it.
