Hey, everyone.

This new board has been made so that people reading Indie Books can leave their reviews posted here. I want to keep rules to a minimum, but there are a few.

Reviews must be of independent/self-published books, or those from a small press.

If you happen to know the author or have been involved, you can still review it (unless you are the author) but please leave a note declaring your interest.

Honesty is critical, but keep things civil, both in reviewing and any subsequent discussion that follows on from the initial review.

On a similar note, if you happen not to finish a book, please mention roughly how far into it you stopped (it *is* ok to review a book you only read partially).

Most people will want to rate books as well as leave a review, but if you dislike rating [I do] and just want to leave a review without a score that's ok.

And, as always, any spoilers must be hidden or well-marked ahead of time so people can avoid them if they wish.

I think that's everything. If I missed something, please let me know and I'll amend this post.

Edited extra rule: posting positive reviews by a third party about your own work (ie a book you have written or contributed a story to) is now banned. The goal of the Reviews section is to encourage objective assessments so that readers can find what's hot and what is not, not to act as a new area for authors to self-promote (we already have a well-used self-promotion folder). I don't want a stack of 4-5* reviews being posted by authors.
