Hi,

Here we will discuss Chapters 24 -27.

Nico (nicoreads) | 43 comments Wanted to like this, and sorry I just didn't. The plot fell to pieces in the end in my opinion. I had such a hard time believing any of it. The cellphone stuff was a lot to swallow especially. And just in general I felt like Wylie's decision making throughout was unjustifiable. But giving her the excuse at the end that all those decisions were determined because she herself is an Outlier (not much of a twist there) was also a reach.

I've always been extremely intuitive, I can tell what people are good fits for me and who aren't rather quickly, and can tell when others are hurting, etc. But I "argue" with myself and try and find logic to why I am leaning too heavily on that intuition sometimes. And I think a lot of us are this way. If only so if later someone asks why we chose to do something such-and-such thing a certain way there's a rational argument. So I struggled with that too.

And the ending? I get that this is a trilogy, but cliffhangers like that annoy me a bit, but most especially I felt the "wrap up" was rushed and awkward. The explanations made little sense because they were a stretch. And Cassie's sacrifice seemed unnecessary, somehow. I feel like the writer could have come up with a more creative way for them to escape. Instead, Cassie is cast as irredeemable for being self-sabotaging and being manipulated and has to die? That was kind of depressing and felt unnecessary.

Anyway, sorry if this was brutal. lol I didn't mind it until about halfway and then it became a lot more problematic. I'm a picky reader too I admit. Haha...
