Daniel | 1534 comments So overall, what did you think? I thought it was one of the best books I have read all year.

I completely agree! The magic system was just excellent and had a very Sanderson feel to it. I also loved the characters and the world building.

Also, any book with a talking magical object immediately get points for me.

I'll absolutely be continuing with the series in the future.

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Am I the only one here who's rating this a 4.5 stars?
It was great. I agree. But it did take a little time to get into. A very small thing really and it did compensate beautifully later on.

I loved the characters and the scriving is perhaps one of the most original magic systems/methods I've ever read. I loved the idea of owned human that Sancia was trying to get out of her head. And I loved Clef. Though Orso came a close second.
I'm also looking forward to the sequel.

Daniel | 1534 comments No I only gave it four stars. It could go up to five depending on how the whole series goes. But I had some small issues as well.

Daniel | 1534 comments My other comment was about Transformation so I deleted it.

Charlie (charlieridley) | 5750 comments Even though I had issues at the very beginning with the writing, it got so much better that I forgot all about the rocky start and I was so immersed in the story that I gave it 5 stars.
