ABANDONED. Can’t Find This Book Anywhere even Online

Been looking for a book that I lost some years ago called Strays ( I think that was the name). It was about a pack of dogs killing people in a town (or city can’t remember) the pack leader was a dog that was deformed from some kind of chemical or pollution, I’m not sure if it was new in the late 80s or early 90s it was a favorite of mine and I lost it when I moved 22 years ago ☹️ Can someone please help me find it! I can’t remember who wrote it ☹️ And I can’t find it anywhere even online.
