Mirkat | 54 comments I hope this isn't the wrong topic area to post this. Does anyone know of a site similar to Netgalley, but for audiobooks instead of ebooks? I often obtain e-galleys from Netgalley, but I tear through so many more audiobooks than text, I keep thinking I wish I could get the ARCs in audio form.

Julesy | 96 comments I have used I have audiobookboom and although they do provide codes for a review in exchange, they are not arcs. Also, the selection is rather mediocre, meaning the authors are not well known at all, quality not that great.

There is also audiobookwormpromotions.com/adopt-an-..., but selection is limited.

I think your best bet is just to scour the promotional threads here on these forums.

Mirkat | 54 comments Thanks, Faith and Julesy. That was the impression I had, but I hoped there was something I'd missed!

donna backshall (dtamayob) | 64 comments I've found that a lot of authors, once they notice you're reading, enjoying and reviewing their books, will approach you to be a beta reader for the ebook or listener for the audiobook, ahead of the release date. In every case, since I already know I love their stuff, I've answered "heck yeah!"

The problem with pre-release audiobooks is that they're usually not put into production until after most of the kinks have been shaken out in the ebook format, because it's significantly harder to go back to make small edits in an audio production than it is to simply edit the Kindle edition. The best narrators are in high demand, and they tend to laser focus on one performance at a time.

As Julesy said, it's best to keep your eye on the promotional threads, and kind of make it known you are eager to listen and write thoughtful reviews. Word gets out, especially among the indie writers. Once they know you're willing to share reviews around on the top sites (good or bad, because getting people talking about their stuff is key), you'll find you'll get more requests than you can handle.
