SOLVED. Thriller about family on the run [s]

Hi, I'm trying to find the name of a book I read 5-10 years ago about a man fleeing mysterious killers who are after him and his child. I think the book was published not long before I read it.

Spoilers ahead: It turns out that he and/or his child are one of the last surviving members of a Native American tribe that owns rights to a particular casino (or maybe the right to build one). I think the killers murder his wife, possibly early in the book.

This sounded correct so I picked up the book at my local library to confirm it., and and started reading it. You're exactly right! My memories were so vague I didn't think anyone would find it.
