Rule One: (view spoiler)[ So I just finished Rule One and it seems like so far it is a "reunion" of old friends. I have a suspicion their secret has something to do with how the boy Luc died. And this is also probably why none of them have seen each other is so long. Then the section ends with the human bone found... Could it be Lucs and it is bringing up memories, or did Kate do something without the other girls and needs help covering something up... Guess I'll keep reading on to find out. (hide spoiler)]

Rule Three: (view spoiler)[ So once the secret with Kate's Dad came out I wasn't really surprised. I figured when he brought him into the story he wasn't always drawing things he should, and he eventually paid the price. Maybe he couldn't stand thinking about the girls that way and that's why he ended up committing suicide. As for the girls getting kicked out I saw that coming, even though I thought they would be caught sneaking out not having the adults search their rooms! Only half way through the book.... Also luc is someone they are struggling to forget..i think the deadone is him..idk..
They used to play lying game in their past.giving points to the one who make fool out of someone else sort of thng...i guess the griev consequence of this game lead to sme serious death

Iam totally confused..they are worried over sme death happened in the past.
A sheep is dead and they thinks shadow did it..but isa is nt sure of tht coz wen she cleans kate clothes to remove blood she gets a note a threatening note abt thrwng sheep/body in reach...also she gets a drawing of kate crossed with hate.(i think mayb luc did it )
To clear her mind she goes out for a walk and meets several villagers and luc..i thot luc was dead but he is nt..he was accusing them of lying..idk

The story is dragging toomuch..most of the part is their fear of the past..kind of repeating wht we already know..also past and present switch makes me confused.

Ambrose killed himself and they had to bury him.As kate wudnt leave the mill coz shes soo stupid fifteen yr old girl and wudnt live with foster prents.
Luc had to return to his prents who torture him coz ambrose is dead and cant live with kate .why he is so made to all of them??? I dnt see any rsn
Why they conceald it?? For kate to live few mre years at the mill ??whythe rest all went along with it??..hw can they be soo stupid..15 yrs is nt tht youngr ..alsoo why kate is draggng them to this again??iam getting annoyed with kate..

Now the bones are found and police are digging into it..

Thers no strong twist yet and i didnt find the past significant ..first chapter onwards they are rambling abt this past and its jst dont fit in.
Mayb there wil be mre ..i need to keep reading..but iam disappointd abt many thngs

I do wish that the chapters had more of definite timeline. Like starting the chapter with Present or past or adding a year, would be much easier to differentiate between the time periods.

Okey this is real weird..i knew kate is bad..kate is lying hiding smethng and dragging them in to this..
When thea mentioned wht ambrose told..kate must go it gives a slight motive..but kate wont kill ambrose..idk mayb she mayb the one..or smeone from them..they all are lying at smepoint eventhough their rule is not to lie.
One of the four is tied to luc in the past..is it kate?.is tht the rsn for ambrose to let her go??

And wht the hell is isa doing??.owen is such a sweet husband ..she is thw one messing up their relatnship and blaming him for being posessive aftr all the lies and mkng up with luc??

The twist was not surprising ..the plot was nice the frndship and the lying game.
Iam satisfied with ending..luc is crazy to kill his father for the sister whom he loved..and kate concealed it and dragged her frnds in to it..i think kate lovd him but still wanted him to pay his price..moreover it was words of her father to save luc aftrall kept her back..
Luc tried to kill himself and kate runs to protect him evnthough she knows thers no turning back..their death was their own way of grievng and showng gratitude fr eachother..

First Quarter - (view spoiler)[I love thrillers where the protagonist returns to the past and some as-of-yet unnamed tragedy that occurred there so this one immediately appealed. Isa and her baby travel to Salten after 17 years have passed and one text received containing only three words, which showed the hold the past still had on her. The segments set in the past illuminated why, with the allure of the lying game and the girls who played it - Kate, Thea, and Fatima - being immediately apparent. In the present, everyone arrives one by one, meaning you are slowly introduced to their characters before learning why they had been summoned and all so eagerly returned. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[Information about more characters has been introduced, such as Luc and Mark Wren. Their arrival at the dinner prompted Isa to remember how awfully their click treated the other girls and how their lying games had consequences. Ambrose's death came as a surprise, as did their decision to bury his body and hide all evidence of his death to save Kate being put into care. I feel very sorry for them all but feel his death may not have been suicide, as we are still only halfway through the book. (hide spoiler)]

Fourth quarter - (view spoiler)[A satisfactory ending, if not my favourite Ware book. I didn't anticipate Luc to be Ambrose's killer but I didn't think it was suicide either. Kate and Luc's actions were unforgivable but I also pitied them too, especially with their final ending together. (hide spoiler)]
