The Bachelor Team Challenge Round 2 - Q&A/Announcements

As for the other tasks, I will work to clarify those as well. I will go through the monthly challenge and get you some specifics for 'Challenge'. Also some for 'Camouflage'. Need some food and probably some caffeine first though! 😂 Thank goodness 'Consonant' is pretty straightforward...

Agree. I hope Scientists would work.

No, we are not going to allow jobs for Calculus. (See message #585 for more on this.)
If the title or precis doesn't specify, you will need to find a tag or list that fits from the options we will provide - again, and I can't stress this enough!, in context. If you have books you believe fit but don't have an acceptable qualifier - tag it or add it to a list now! After the date is announced it is too late.

For Camouflage: I know Military tags work, but under the new rules would a shelf tagged 'cops_firemen_military' or 'military_law_enforcement' etc. Military is there but bunched in with some..."
Those combo tags are killers. I came across a few friends-or-enemies-to-lovers this week. I didn't even try it. I didn't want to see steam pouring out of MKat's ears. :P

Just wanted to check one if one of the scavenger hunt roses I posted: Message 342 will count since Team 5 has also posted the same book: Message 546.

Thank you for catching that one! I searched for a lot of them to make sure they weren't duplicates, but missed that one.
Sorry Team 5, that was already claimed. I will update my tracking now.

Yes, those will be allowed. But I can't stress this enough, it must fit in context! For example 'geeky cover' won't work.

2nd Date - 3rd Book

By the skin of your teeth! 😂

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
C is for Consonant - Read a book with a title that begins with a consonant, disregarding any articles. For example, neither The Understatement of the Year nor The Art of Breathing qualify, but A Wish Upon the Stars and A Quick Bite both do.
Do not forget to disregard any and all articles!!
C is for Camouflage - Read a book featuring a MC in that is in the military or is former military. Qualification from the title, précis, tags or lists.
The following tags/lists will be allowed: military, vet, veteran, soldier, navy, army, air force, marines, SEAL, Army Ranger, fighter pilot, Delta Force. Combo tags will be allowed IN CONTEXT - so if your book is tagged 'cops_firemen_military', but the precis indicates the hero is a sheriff for example (or even if all the other tags just indicate law enforcement), the book will be disqualified. I strongly suggest you find other qualification if possible - we will be SUPER PICKY with the combo tags.
C is for Challenge - Read a book that works for one of the current RRRC Monthly Challenge categories, excluding Reader's Choice. Qualification will vary with the rule.
1. 'J' is for July: ☀️Read a book that starts with 'J' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'J'.
Exactly as it says, disregard articles.
2. Bird of the Month - Eagle: ☀️Read a book that includes a royal/monarch MC (any level) OR a book with an animal on the cover or as part of the story (shifters count) OR a book that starts with a letter in EAGLE.
Remember royal/monarch does not include nobility - dukes and lords do not count. You will need to qualify this with the title, series, precis, lists or tags. Animal on cover - show cover. Animal/Shifter in story would qualify with title, series, precis, lists or tags. Starts with a letter in EAGLE - state which letter to qualify, disregarding articles.
3. Featured Author Challenge (FAC) authors:
Queen of Romance - Lori Foster
Princess of Romance - Julie Anne Long
☀️Read one book written by Lori Foster or Julie Anne Long, or any author with either of their first or last names. Link to backlists: Lori Foster, Julie Anne Long
☀️You may also read a book set in Ohio or by an author from Ohio OR a book published in 1996 OR a book shelved as Contemporary Romance or Urban Fantasy.
To qualify using the author's name - state the name. To qualify using a book set in Ohio - use GR main book page, precis, list or tag. To qualify using an author from Ohio - use the author's GR page. To qualify as shelved CR or UF, use a link showing the tag.
4. International Kissing Day (July 6): ☀️Read a book with people hugging or kissing on the cover OR a book that contains double letters in the title (i.e. The Unhoneymooners, Meet Cute, Just One of the Groomsmen) OR a book with a mostly pink or red cover.
To qualify with hug/kiss on cover or mostly pink/red cover - show cover. To qualify using double letters in the title, point out what/where the doubles are in the title.
5. Embrace Your Geekness Day (July 13): Not allowed for this task.
6. Bastille Day (July 14): ☀️Read a book set in Europe OR a book with a 1 or 4 in the page count OR a book published in July, any year, any edition.
To qualify as set in Europe, it must be set in a location on this List of States/Territories of Europe. Use the GR main book page, precis, tags or lists to verify. If using the page count, it must come from an English language edition - show the page count with link to the edition. To qualify using a book published in July, provide a link to that edition.
7. Moon Day (July 20): ☀️Read a paranormal romance OR a book with an outdoor scene on the cover OR a book with a dark cover. You can also read a Sci-Fi book - because of course there are people out there that think the moon landing was Science Fiction, or Fake News!
To qualify using the cover - show cover. To qualify the book as PNR or Sci-Fi - provide link showing the tag.
8. Lamington Day (July 21): ☀️Read a book set in Australia, by an Australian author or with an Australian main character OR read a book with food on the cover OR read a book you think is sweet.
To qualify using a book set in Australia - use GR main book page, precis, list or tag. To qualify using an author from Australia - use the author's GR page. To qualify using a MC from Australia - use the precis, tags or lists. To qualify using food on the cover - show cover. Vampires biting someone will not count. A book you think is sweet will not be allowed for this task.
9. International Day of Friendship (July 30): ☀️Read a friends to lovers book OR a book with best friends in the storyline OR a book recommended to you by a friend.
To qualify as a 'friends to lovers' book use the precis, that tag or a list. To qualify as best friends in story use the precis, tags or lists. A book recommended to you by a friend will not be allowed for this task.
10. Reader's Choice Not allowed.
C is for Calculus - Read a book featuring a geek/nerd MC. Qualification from title, précis, tag or list.
The following will qualify your book in title, precis, tag or list: nerd, geek, brainy, smart, genius and bluestocking. These must be in context!!

If you have any further questions, ask them here.

Well, that was a harder question than you would think! From the research I found, when beginning a word or syllable, Y is generally a consonant even though it is more frequently used as a vowel. 🤷🏻♀️
So for this task, as we are looking for books that begin with consonants, if the book begins with Y, disregarding articles, it will be allowed.
