Cheryl | 16 comments I read Parasite by Mira Grant recently and it was good. I'm really enjoying Mira Grant's books but nothing quite hits the highs of those mermaid books. I'm still looking for more mermaid horror...

Same! I loved it so much I randomly started another book by the same author without even knowing what it was about. Bryony and Roses. It was a Beauty and the Beast retelling and fantastic!

That is definitely on my list to read. And it was just announced as part of the preliminary Stoker ballot!

Tracy (tracy_reads79) | 77 comments I am blazing through Meg Elison's Road to Nowhere series. Finished book 2 yesterday and immediately purchased the ebook of book 3 because I didn't want to wait for the paperback. More post-apocalyptic/spec fic than horror, but I LOVE IT

message 168: by Angie (new)

Angie (strangersights) | 22 comments Cricket Hunters by Jeremy Hepler

Almost done - it's a really good, genre-bending story. It's sort of horror, family drama, thriller and mystery all rolled into one.

message 169: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Godwin (kgodwin) | 29 comments I just finished Amanda Byrd's 13 Reasons for Murder: Meathead. XD I plan on starting the Group Read soon.

message 171: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 16 comments I'm really loving Victoria Schwab's Cassidy Blake series. It's middle grade horror, lots of ghosts and so fun. I'm sending a copy of the first book to my niece in hopes of cultivating another horror fan!

Sasha (artpumpkinwi) Has anyone read follow me to ground by sue rainsford yet? I just finished it this weekend and it was one of those hauntingly creepy reads. Won’t lie, it’s not for everybody. But it was lovely in a poetic dreary way as it starts out innocently enough and gets more and more insane as it continues.

D (donnaduck) | 29 comments White is for Magic by Laurie Faria Stolarz. I’m loving this series so far.

D (donnaduck) | 29 comments Here There Are Monsters by Amelinda Bérubé. I tried reading it when it first came out and DNFed it. I had a strong urge to try it again.

Are you having better luck the second time around? I put it aside and haven't yet picked it back up. I'm waiting for my life to quiet down so I can give it all of my attention.

D (donnaduck) | 29 comments I’m to the sane spot I was where I stopped last time. I want to keep reading so that’s something.

Cheryl | 16 comments I finally read GEEK LOVE by Katherine Dunn and it was great! It was bizarre and engaging and I think I'll be thinking about this for the rest of my life. Like, one of those stories that pops up in your head every so often out of nowhere.

I know, right? It's a good read but it's unnerving to read it now with everything going on.
