Heather | 14 comments There were a series of books that, I think, started with "Death at..." The main characters were a man and woman who seemed to find themselves solving murders and met, married, and had children during the series. I believe that it was set in Victorian England.

Tea | 4 comments Was the husband possibly a Thames police officer? I'm in the middle of a move and a few days ago I packed up one book in a series where the mystery-solving couple lived in Victorian London. If you think that might be the correct series z I'll try to find the book.

Heather | 14 comments Tea, maybe. I remember I found the paperbacks about ten years ago at Barnes and Noble and read a few but I think there were more, maybe seven in the series.

Or Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series that starts with The Cater Street Hangman could fit I believe.

Okay. I found the book I had packed away: Blind Justice

It's from the William Monk series by Anne Perry. Monk is a Thames River police officer in it, but he didn't start out that way at the beginning of the series. Also, this series has at least a score of books in it, so I don't know if it's what you're looking for.

EDIT: I goofed. These books aren't titled "Death At..."

That sounds far more likely than my suggestion!

To be honest, I'm not sure if any of the other details are right. It's not one I've read or heard of before, it just came up when I did a little searching. But it's worth a shot.

Aspiring Scribbler | 68 comments Are you sure it's Victorian? If it's a bit later (1920s) then the Daisy Dalrymple series by Carola Dunn matches all of the other details... The first one is Death at Wentwater Court.
