Thank you two so much. I had to get a new phone recently. I went back and tried again to download the Kindle App and this time it worked!! Yippie. I had given up when the phone was new and installing all the apps.
Again thank you. I just downloaded the Moon Reader to my phone. I then downloaded a Manybooks.net pdf (Erasmus - In Praise of Folly). It is nice and Moon Reader remembers my place in the pdf in a way my laptop will not.

I can strongly recommend giving the Epub format a try. PDF is formatted by the sender. Reading in epub means you can format it as you like it: Font size, linewidth, line spacing, colour, left-justify,... (small screens and right-justify is ugly, if you ask me).
In Praise of Folly by Erasmus is on Gutenberg
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/30201
In the Moon Reader app on the bookshelf page swipe right 3 times to get to the “Net Library” page. You can download it this way.
An other feature I use a lot is to point on a word or phrase. The little menu you get is also customizable. I have “highlight, note, dict., search, more” more leads to Wikipedia, Google and so on.
I non-fiction I use highlight and notes a lot and then email my notes to myself.

Thanks. I plan on traveling a little in the next month, so having books on my phone will be perfect. I spent some time yesterday downloading a dozen books or so to my phone.
