This semester I read the book Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff. The book is based on his experience with addiction, and its autobiographical. HIs father later wrote a novel called Beautiful Boy that showed Nic's struggle with addiction from his perspective, I haven't read this book yet but I am definitely going to have to. The book was beautifully written, and the narration was just the right amount of sarcastic. The sarcasm helped lighten the mood, because at times the book was extremely depressing. I cried several times, but the ending was still happy somehow. I would highly recommend that everyone check out this book (or at least go see the movie that was based on it!).
