Can't remember the name of the book . About teens trying to avoid being attacked by a monster/water spirit in still water/fens/marshlands. They try to stay away from all water. In the book there are descriptions of evil possessed sheep with yellow eyes. Read in the late 70's or early 80's. Can't remember much else.

This book appears to be too recent, but I'll mention it just in case - Loch (1994) by Paul Zindel? Did the monster/water spirit appear to be huge?
Madeleine, what's the location (country/region/city/small town)?

Hi Kris, thanks so much for responding! I'll have a look at Loch. I can't remember what size the spirit was, but don't think it was huge. It was definitely set in England.
I added "set in England" to the topic header/title. Feel free to update it by clicking the small "edit" after the header. This only works on the full desktop website - not the mobile app or mobile website.
What does the monster / water spirit / creature look like?
Can we eliminate Night of the Crabs by Guy N. Smith?

Hi Kris, no definitely not Night of the Crabs, but thank you for trying. Can't remember what the monster water spirit creature looked like, but definitely what stands out in my memory is the yellow eyed sheep and mist.
The yellow-eyed sheep in the mist reminds me of Power of Three...Talk of fens makes me wonder about John Gordon?
