Please help me find this book

Hello,

I am searching for a book I read about 12-14 years ago and might have been published around the late 90's to 2005. Its about a boy or girl who wakes up on ship. They might have died or been in a bad car crash and with he/she wakes up they find themselves in a large room with a voice speaking to them telling him/her to get up, If I remember the voice starts to grow angry and then the person wakes up. They are instructed to get up and get a mop and bucket from a closet. This person then finds out others are on the ship as well and no one knows who runs the ship(might be an AI) These people are caretakers or custodians on the ship or so they are trained to be.

Please help me find this book.
