Review: The book is about a normal teen-age girl who realizes that she's not so normal and learns that "all the stories are true". The glamour is removed and she sees the vampires, werewolves and greater fight against demons as she searches for her mother. The story was entertaining and quick. Maybe I'm out of habit with YA Fantasy but I thought the writing was a bit over the top and the characters were so one note that they started to annoy me in the end. Still I will probably try the next book in the series eventually.

Review: I've skipped around in this series, but I really need to start from book 1 and read them in order. I love the world Jennifer Ashley has created for her Shiftertown! This one is based in Las Vegas, and features cat shifters Eric Warden and Iona Duncan. Eric is the leader of the LV Shiftertown, and Iona is a half-shifter/half-human who runs a construction company with her mother and sister (who are both human.) Another group of shifters are being relocated to Las Vegas and Eric and the other leader are now fighting for control. Eric needs Iona's construction company to help him build shifter-appropriate housing off the records. He also recognizes that Iona is fighting her need to mate - and he's planning on being the one she mates with! There was a lot going on in this book and it was fast-paced and exciting!

I didn't realize that this was 2 separate stories and that they were put in the book in reverse order. Or I would have read the 2nd one first. Not a huge deal but the 2nd story was kind of spoiled because it's the parents of Fearghus in the first story. The first story kind of gave away some aspects of the 2nd story, beyond the expected HEA. That said, I enjoyed the writing and loved Annwyl and Fearghus. I'll definitely read more of the series. I had both the audio and the ebook and I liked the ebook better. The narrator was kind of flat and I had a hard time keeping track of some of the characters when listening. Going to stick with only ebook for the rest.

Review: This one is hard to review without spoilers for the previous books. It was a very fast satisfying, exciting, suspenseful conclusion to the trilogy. A lot of the lingering questions from the other books are answered and you learn a lot about Legend, the Fates, Scarlet, Tella, and Julian. I enjoyed it a great deal and am a little sad that the series is over.

How are your books coming along, @Alejandro and @Meg?
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

@Tiffany, I will have to move the rest of the Caraval series up in my TBR queue. Glad you enjoyed it!

I continue to get a kick out of this series after all these years. Harper "Foxxy" Beck, witch of Wareville, continues to be undaunted and near fearless in the face of creatures that go bump in the night. Even at six months pregnant. Yet, in spite of her tough girl facade, she is utterly devoted to, and protective of, her husband and stepson. This is one paranormal heroine that I gladly cheer for.

No worries, Meg! Hope your week goes well.

How is everyone's week and reading?
While I've read and enjoyed a number of thrillers, it's not my usual genre. Started mine last night though and I'm already thoroughly hooked!! Wishing the same for everyone. :)
Happy reading!!

@Meg, glad it's a fun option for you, excited to see what you pick!

Review: This was hard to put down. Very good tempo and good plot. Some of the romance was a bit sappy but it was clean. Unlike other fantasy books I have read this was not to dark. Story about a girl that can " hear"
thoughts. Her parents are very overprotective and they help her guard this secret. When they relocate once again they discover that their new small hometown has secrets of its own. Although I would reccomend this book and plan to read more from this author, the story dragged just a bit in some parts. The parts where the action takes place were very good.
