Rating: 3 and a half stars
Review: The book alternates between 11 year old Lucy and her aunt as they struggle to find a relationship after the sudden loss of Lucy's parents/ Aunt's half sister. Lucy tries to cope with the sudden loss and move from a fancy NYC life to farm life on the UP Michigan. The aunt copes with her own issues with motherhood and interacting with the local community. The books gets a bit preachy at points which makes the characters a bit stiff but a good read.

It's my birthday weekend! My friend came to visit. We went for fancy dinner, river tubing at Harper's Ferry, winery visits and a barbecue. It was fun to celebrate summer! Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

It seems a little unfair to call the shelf 2 days early when there's a team already with a winning shelf and then make them read the new shelf.
