We haven’t had much luck recently getting an Indie Pick. I don’t want to drop this category the way that we dropped YA and NA. Do you think it might help if we loosened the rules to allow books that are only available on Amazon, in a single format?

I know some of us don’t read ebooks, and some don’t do business with Amazon. I figure that an Indie Pick that is just Amazon ebook is better than no Indie Pick at all.

Actually, I think it makes sense. A lot of indies are only published on Amazon. It may not be fair to other platforms, but is it fair to the indies who are only on Amazon that they are outlawed?

I edited the current Indie Nominations thread to allow KU, and nominated a book I read last year that I had wished at the time could be nominated. If this goes well we will make the change permanent.

Caitlin | 192 comments This is okay with me. Maybe when nominating indies we could still try and strive for a mixture of wide and Amazon-only books, without making it a hard rule that they must be published wide.
