While many readers with a biology/psychology background may already be aware of all/a lot of the underlying science the links made in this book are some I hadn't considered and thus I'd suspect others wouldn't have considered either. Perhaps I am not getting enough REM sleep and not thinking creatively enough.
The suggestions to overcome the problems are fantastic. Some are a little hard to implement but others can easily be incorporated into our existing days. E.g. Our year 12 students have free periods why not have a nap room for a brain dump? All our students have pastoral care why not include some information on sleep for all of them not just the year 11/12 psychology classes?
I would have given 5* but it did get a little repetitive about 2/3 of the way through, then improved again towards the end. I am hoping to implement some of the ideas for myself and have already had the special education unit at school agree to a nap room since these are our most disadvantaged children.
Well worth the read!
