But interested to hear what others who've read it think.

For most of the first part I thought I would dnf it this one but I was outside doing yard work and the speaker was a bit aways. It was a bit boring, but we were getting the lay of the land and how mortals were treated in this Faerie world. Things didn't really didn't pick up for me until Jude started to fight back. They picked up more when Jude started to plan things in her own right. I loved seeing her manipulate people who had always looked at her like dog shit they stepped in. What masterful moves Jude made. I do worry for her and the people in Faerie seem to have long memories and I'm not sure she will be able to keep up the level she did at the end for as long as she will need to, but I'll be rooting for her to show them all up.

SPOILER ALERT
So, Jude has power over Cardan at the end. Right? For a year, right? Cardan is all smug and telling her to watch out after the year is over, right? Umm. If she has power over him NOW, why can't she force him to swear a new oath to do what she says forever? .... but really, WHY did he give her that power in the first place? Did he really think he had no better options? Perhaps, it has something to do with his feelings for her? A fool in love?
Here is the blurb:
Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.
And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.
Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.
To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.
As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself
