Ronald (rpdwyer) I just sent this email to goodreads.com which is reprinted here:

Hello,

I had created here at goodreads, The New Yorker: The Science Fiction Issue, and it looks like it got deleted, along with its reviews.

If it is deleted, I am extremely disappointed. There was nothing offensive at all.

In anticipation of a possible reply: to delete something because it is not a book, but a magazine, is silly. First, it contained fiction and non fiction , which the reviewers apparently liked--its average goodreads review was over 4 stars. Second, other magazines remain up at goodreads.

I think the deletion showed poor judgment and would like to see everything returned.

Sincerely,

Ron Dwyer

Ronald (rpdwyer) Thanks for the reply, Banjomike.

So it looks what I had created, and all the reviews, got deleted, and a new shelf for The New Yorker: The Science Fiction issue was created. And the idiot who did that did not merge the old reviews with the new entry.

Ronald (rpdwyer) Banjomike,

If I recall correctly, I added it just a couple days after The New Yorker: The Science Fiction Issue came out, which was some time in the Summer of 2012 I think.

The one we still have dates from September 2013 so yours would predate it. Some people add magazines by date so they might not have seen one with no date in the title. Support will investigate.

Ronald (rpdwyer) I got a reply from goodreads. However, the shelf I created has not returned.

Also, the new shelf that was created--the link given by Banjomike--is now deleted too!

Something wonderful was destroyed. Shame, shame on goodreads.

Here is some advice:

Only give the authority to delete and merge shelves to a select few at goodreads.

I'm not sure what is going on but there are another two versions of that magazine added by a bot back in May 2014:
