SOLVED. Children book about a hedgehog(?) in a mansion that is looking for what cannot be found. [s]

I'm vaguely remember a children's books that I thought was called "persimmony mansion" but cannot find it. The main character was a hedgehog(?) that kept looking for "something that cannot be found" in her mansion (and more places?) filled with everything. I can't remember what the other characters were but I vaguely remember she keeps asking the same question and then says something like "if not go away". At the end she finds it or is told about it and it's something incorporeal like friendship or kindness or something.
