ABANDONED. YA Fantasy series roughly 7 or 8 years ago about a boy whose parents are killed, after they are killed he is sent to an academy in a different world where everything is ruled over by a council. SPOILERS ahead.

After his parents are killed, the boy finds a walkie talkies, I don't remember what happened, just that it was there. After this happens there is a sequence of events that leads him to an academy in the other world. It is a weird place and I remember some details of the story.
-He is a hybrid (His parents were not both human)
-He has special powers.
-The principal of the school is the brother of a council member.
-He becomes friends with a boy and a girl, and we later find out the boy has wings.
-The announcer from their school lives on the roof and they have to discover this after a spy breaks in and talked over the position.
-The land of the Dead, or at least the river Styx, is underneath their school.
-During the final battle while the principal and his brother are in conflict, the principal's brother admits to turning his father on his mother. After the principal kills his brother (I'm pretty sure it was with a trophy) he says "I liked Mother."

Not sure how it is done in the app, in the web, just above of the box for your post, there is a (kinda tiny) link that say "add book/author", there you can search for either, and when you find it, just click the "add" button to the left of the book/author.

You have to click on the link twice to add the book and the author, but only have to search once, the search is saved unless you close the page.
