Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Hello to you, whoever you are that is reading this right now. I hope you take the time below to hit that reply button and say hello back!

Let me introduce myself. I am Mandy Lou Dowson, author of Paranormal Romance with a delightfully dark edge. I'm Irish through and through, although my books are based in fictional U.S. type towns, and I would love to get to know you all. Feel free to send me a friend request, here or on FB...you can't ever have enough friends, right? Right!

My first book in the Moon Bound Series was released a few days ago and I suppose I'm still encased in that euphoric bubble of "has it really happened?" and coming to grasps with all the ins and outs of it. With that being said, I'm loving all the good reviews I'm getting, and living in fear of a bad one lol

So...that's me in a nutshell. The reply button is just...down....there :D

Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Hello! I quite forgot I wrote this lol

Aww Thanks Tami, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I woke up this morning and found I was tagged in a lovely post on FB about it, too. It's the little things. <3

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 14 comments Hi Mandy, and hi everyone else :-) I couldn't find an "Intro" thread, so I thought I might as well use this one!

My name is Gaines. I live in Australia, but was born and raised in Tennessee in the US. I translate from Chinese to English for a living, and in my spare time I like to read, watch movies, stare at clouds, write, and cook good food. (well, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's yuck, hehe).

I enjoy reading both fantasy and science fiction. Pretty much any story that's told well holds my attention. I love spaceships and stories about space especially.

Occasionally I write short pieces of sci-fi or fantasy, which I put up for people to read for free on my website, www.gainespost.com . Some might be decent, but some are crap. I'll let you decide :-)

Nice to meet you all!

Tami Hi Gaines!

Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Hi Gaines! I don't experiment with food, since anything I do experiment with ends up looking like dog vomit. My partner, on the other hand loves to experiment and his always turn out delicious..I'm quite jealous of that!

message 16: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Lamb is lamb...lol. Mutton is an adult sheep. :)

message 17: by Gaines (new)

Gaines Post (gainespost) | 14 comments A "leg of lamb" at Woolies (grocery chain in Australia and elsewhere) is actually mutton, marketed as "lamb." But hey, it tastes good if you know how to cook it :-p In fact I have a sneaking suspicion that the vast majority of "lamb" comes from animals that are way past the youth of lambdom, and are well into their first year or two of being a sheep.... O.O

So, dinner at Mandy's, right? To celebrate? Awesome! Thanks Mandy! :-]

message 18: by Tami (new)

Tami hear, hear Mandy is soooo AWESOME

message 19: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Gaines...no! That's actually shocking. We Irish take our meat very seriously lol. I get mine from a butcher who has an abattoir attached to his shop, so you know it's as fresh as can be, and exactly what you're asking for. I went in one day to ask if they had any lean pork mince, and he said no, but he'd make me some. He picked up a lovely fillet of pork with little or no fat, trimmed what he could and then minced it for me then and there, not even caring that he'd have to wash the machine down afterward -- which I seen him do lol

I will only do dinner on one condition. You have to drink copious amounts of wine with me. I like a bottle or two lol

message 20: by Tami (new)

Tami long as I don't have to review any books....cause man I worried so long over short and curlies that my buzz was GONE :O

message 21: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Dowson (mandyloudowson) | 25 comments Rofl! Well you could have used much more vulgar language than that. :-P
