Ch 9 (25%) - (view spoiler)[ I knew what was coming for Wybert, but it was still fun to see how Angelique was going to make it happen. I think I get it now why the series is called The Fairy Tale Enchantress. I guess we will get little stories mixed in as we go along. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 15 (48%) - (view spoiler)[ And now Angelique is responsible for Sleeping Beauty's curse alteration. Clever. I do hope she learns to use her core magic soon though. It seems like it can be used for good - like protecting someone instead of killing. I can't imagine that she will be allowed to become an Enchantress without accessing it fully. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 23 (76%) - (view spoiler)[ Uh oh, Evariste is so not hiding his feelings for her. I actually think they are kind of cute together, but I'm tired of this dragging out. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - (view spoiler)[ So NOW she gathers the courage to access her magic and let it flow - figures. I assumed she would do it to save Evariste in some form.

I liked this book but......I got a little annoyed with the format at times. It was almost like sporadically tuning into a marathon of a particular TV series - you catch the pilot, but then jump to a season 2 episode, followed by a season 4, etc. You end up with the gist and sometimes get an important turning point, but a lot is lost in the timelines that you missed.

I like Evariste, and I love how these two are orbiting each other and trying to keep their distance but we know it will be futile. I am also glad that something finally happened with the black mages. It was clear that they were going to be villains but it took forever for anything of importance to really happen. (hide spoiler)]

I think book 2 will be better, you??

Everytime she does let her magic out it ends in some semblance of disaster even if shes kind of a spaz and making a mountain out of a mole hill. I'm interested to know if loosing her parents warped her magic in any way and whether its just the academy that caused her to hate her magic. That would be pretty traumatic to anyone really. Finished: I see what you mean. It does look like book 2 is going to be way better. (view spoiler)[ This one drug out waaaaayyyyy to long for realz. That last 20% though kept me pretty riveted. I must know what happened to Roland! Ended up being pretty decent but honestly, 12 years.. 12 years and you don't know if you have a thing for someone.. Seems pretty unbelievable really. There were alot of times I couldn't interpret the emotional atmosphere because "Angel" is really stunted and self absorbed and couldn't understand what was going on around her. So maybe with her magic out now she will be able to interact more genuinely with those around her. (hide spoiler)]
