A girl named Sally' Sal goes to a Canadian Boarding school for Kids with CP. It starts with the fact that her parents want her to go to public school so she can be around all kinds of Kids and learn to live in an unadapted world. It follows her as she makes friends, celebrates Halloween and struggles to learn in a mainstream public school while still facing the challenges of CP I did this for a book report in 1998-1999, all google is showing me is a book called out of my mind. It isn't that book I'm sure

Mine for Keeps by Jean Little? It was first published in the 60s but the edition in Goodreads is from 1996, I think.
