ABANDONED. YA Fantasy novel, self published but successful, generic dragon raising story, female protagonist

I read this book about a hundred times when I was in middle school, and I really want to reread it now but can't find my copy. It's been at least eight years since I read it, but I'll try and list as many details as I remember.

About the story:

Main girl jumps through a wall of fire to bond with dragon that a magic using kid created to keep her from the egg

Some sort of plague gets everyone sick, dragons and humans, she helps?

She might have a dragons soul instead of a human soul? (I'm fairly certain this was a big plot point)

Final part of the book is a massive tournament with chalk arrows and magically blunted weapons

About the book itself:

Written by a high school author I think

She might be from Washington state? but also maybe not

cover may be vaguely green (or have green on it, memory is hard)

*I think it had a fairly generic dragon fantasy title (dragon soul, fledgling, etc.)

Any help is appreciated! I've been digging through list online for the last few days and have found nothing
