SOLVED. Romance with a tattoo artist and possible MC - heroine is also a stripper. [s]

I read this book a couple of years ago - around the same time as I read Under Locke by Mariana Zapata*.

The heroine is for some reason (possibly as a favour or to find out what happened to her missing best friend) dancing in a strip club at night and going to college in the day. Her boss arranges for her to stay with a friend of his - possibly to keep her safe? I think he's an ex con, he owns a tattoo shop and is - or was - in a motorcycle club.

He's kind of a dick in the beginning, has other women over at his place whilst the poor heroine is sleeping on the couch though once they get started romantically, there's no cheating.

I think he may have an ex-wife who wants him back. There was some sort of incident with th heroines child best friends and one of them died - it might have been a fire or something like that.

The heroine may work for him at some point also.

*It's possible I'm confusing some of these details with Under Locke, or possibly just smashing two other completely random books into one in my mind. Does anything of this sound familiar to anyone??
